7:00 PM
I'll ask an employee to lend me a sharp one

That cell phone thing sounds really, really sketchy, @Bart.

Yeah.

@Bart Are you in the Matrix?

@Bart How unique is your email address? Could it be a mistype of someone else's?

I've contacted the seller (which is reputable) but had no reply yet. I'm tempted to send it back to them @jadarnel27.
I seem to be lacking a serious amount of spoons @AnnaLear. But perhaps that just means I should do my dishes.

7:06 PM
Raise your hand glass if you think @Bart is a drug dealer.

raises gla.... ... no, nice try.

No, but he's obviously some kind of weird reverse-phone-scammer.

I almost got you. You win this round, @Bart. But we're keeping an eye on you. Don't leave town.

The Berwyn Heights mayor's residence drug raid was a controversial action taken by the Prince George's County, Maryland, Sheriff's Office and Police Department at the home of Berwyn Heights mayor Cheye Calvo on July 29, 2008. The raid was the culmination of an investigation that began in Arizona, where a package containing 32 pounds of marijuana was intercepted in a warehouse, addressed to the mayor's residence. In spite of intercepting the package in transit, the police allowed the package to be delivered. Once the package arrived at the house, a SWAT team raided and held the mayor a...

Okay, you might not hear from me for a while.

nrgh.
@JeroenVannevel Destroyed.

Cheers :)

@AnnaLear All the JS is borked on mSO.
Clicking JS-like links bumps me to the top of the page and does nothing.
^ When trying to add a comment

yeah... something's busted.

Works on SO main

repro-ed on IE11

Maybe mSE?
The Markdown toolbar is gone too

We're fixing it. Got an errant commit that snuck into the latest push.

Q: Eeeeek! mSO JS is all borked!

UndoI just noticed that clicking a JS-like link on mSO (like to show more hot network questions) just bumps me to the top of the page and doesn't do anything else. Also, adding a comment or any other JS-related feature is borked.

Oops. You're fixing it :P
Well now you'll have something to status-complete and feel good about yourselves :P

I upvoted that question and left a comment.
but we'll never notice

Yup
Hehe

Anna doesn't like camelCase

heh

Eeeeek!
And not a dev in sight..

7:53 PM
camelCase is not a thing for initialisms. ;)

I see Nick far away in the user list!

That edit should be flagged @MartijnPieters

@MartijnPieters Pretty sure being visible isn't the best use for them at this time.

brings out the pitchforks and torches.

We're fixing it. Got an errant commit that snuck into the latest push.

7:54 PM
@AnnaLear I saw. :-)

Who did it? We demand names!

@animuson where's the wheel when you need it?

The view count isn't updated either.

Pfft.. Who cares for views

I would forbid commits

7:55 PM
It's Popular Demand's fault!

It'll all be over in about 4 minutes. ;)

Really. I spun it once..

They shouldn't be letting CMs check in commits anyway :P

runs around panicking.

@Undo Very true. Never know what they might get into.

7:56 PM
Commits are only allowed if approved by upper management and signed off by HR

Heh, the only legit me-too answers you'll ever see are on that question :P
I should take this opportunity to flag a bunch of stuff on mSO while the mods can't handle them.

Excellent plan! As soon as the system is fully operational again, I'll get right on pretending that we never received those flags.

It's fixed!

That was fun, of a sort..

kind of ;)
Ok, now we look forward to the finger-pointing :P

8:02 PM
My parents bought me more garbage souvenirs in Vegas...

When I read "garbage souvenirs", for some reason I pictured a little metal apple core keychain, @animuson.

A: Eeeeek! MSO JS is all borked!

Geoff DalgasWell, that was my bad. Time to back go spin the wheel of blame to make sure we choose an appropriate victim. I should have shelved a change and instead pushed the go live button.

@jadarnel27 I'd rather have that.

Another thing - the add comment button on MSO has once again become link-colored.
Whoa, 5 NAA flags.
Three of them on my question :P

I bet my comment was flagged ;)

8:41 PM
Do the comments when recommending deletion in low quality review depend on the OP's reputation?

@3ventic Yeah.

I'm used to seeing the full reason and then I bump into this:
and it confuses me
Makes sense, though.

Yeah, the part about needing 50 reputation only shows to those who have less than 50 reputation.

The user probably has enough rep to comment everywhere, then.

8:53 PM
The serial upvoting on my account on Jan 17 never got reversed. :( I feel so dirty.

Just suspend yourself for a week.
2

@animuson it's not like you're going to get more privs from it :P

@animuson 25 points... start 50 rep bounty as charity and you'll cleanse yourself :D

Say three Hail Skeets and unsuspend two users.

Silly question: if I choose to ignore a moderator, and that moderator try to super ping me, what will happen?

9:08 PM
Something weird that I'm sure I would blame Tim Stone for.

Will it be like suspending yourself? ;)
(which I'm sure someone tried before)

9:47 PM
@ShadowWizard I've ignored you - try to normal-ping me :D
I wonder what happens if I ignore everybody.

Listening...

Brand new, released yesterday.

I liked that first track

10:04 PM
Check out their previous EP, Elements too. Similar structure. One energetic track, one more laid back.

@Undo ping!
But I mean super ping i.e. @@215468

10:33 PM
@Undo The world becomes a quiet and lonely place.

Ah, makes sense
@ShadowWizard Yup, never got that.

Now ignore @animuson and ask him to super ping you ;)
Since it goes outside the boundaries of chat I don't think it will really work, but who knows...

@animuson I can't hear you. Try to mod-pingify me!

I never even knew super-ping existed. How exactly does it work?

@@[user id]

10:37 PM
@@[chat user id] to be precise

me is 215468

or @@[userid]@site.stackexchange.com

Probably there's a shortcut, maybe in the mini profile of the chat?

is watching in incognito window too

@ShadowWizard hahahahaha no

10:38 PM
@AnnaLear oh, only manual writing of @@?

@ShadowWizard yeah. there's a little search dialog that pops up, but it's rather useless for common names.

@undo Oh neat, just typing @@ brings up an awesome little popup to let me type things in. Mods get all the nice tools.

:envy:

@animuson Was that a superping?
Because I never heard it

@Undo Yes, it changes the user ID to your name, and apparently doesn't know proper casing either.

10:40 PM
un-ignores animuson

Super ping should send notification directly to the pinged user, even if he's not in chat. Right, @Anna?

@ShadowWizard correct

So didn't we find a bug now?

Not necessarily.

Well, me didn't get a notification on the main site either.

10:40 PM
I'm not sure superping should always trump ignore.

ignores all 300-some moderators

User shouldn't be able to block moderator ability to contact him

It's a philosophical argument more so than anything.

@ShadowWizard There's always mod messages.

@ShadowWizard One could argue that if you do that you're asking for it :P

10:41 PM
@ShadowWizard I suppose. But I feel so wholeheartedly "meh" about it in chat's case.
It's basically a non-issue.

@AnnaLear but shouldn't it be used as a more subtle mod message, as those leave permanent "mark" on the user profile?
e.g. user who make bad edits?

$10 says that users who make bad edits aren't ignoring moderators in chat.
Hell, they probably aren't even in chat.

Sure, but still... it bugs me. :)

$100 says I'm going to go ignore all the mods and go make bad edits :P

and also, no. chat messages are a very poor substitute for mod messages.
If a user is making a ton of bad edits, a mod message seems suitable. yes, it leaves a mark. no, it's not the end of the world.
Having a record of a conversation for future reference might even be beneficial if the behaviour persists.
(Note that I'm not advocating mod-messaging users for every little thing. Just... it varies. Best judgement, etc.)

10:43 PM
@AnnaLear and no record of super pings?

@ShadowWizard it's just a ping. just with a more persistent notification.

@ShadowWizard I think mods have a nice little menu in the profile that tells everything they've ever done involving messages and stuff. They don't have that for chat.

On the off chance that a user has a mod ignored and the mod needs to chat with a user about something... I'd say a mod message would be justified.
So, meh.

Can mods tell if I have them ignored?

I see. Fair enough, but I'll still support feature request asking to prevent users from being able to ignore moderators :)

10:45 PM
@Undo hmm. not 100% sure. I don't think so.

I have now ignored @AnnaLear
Can you tell
?

I can see that I'm being ignored by 1 user, but not who.

@Undo mod will try to ping you once, twice, eventually he'll take the mod message hammer

Also, I'm a bad test subject because I have dev access.

Ah

10:46 PM
@AnnaLear If you go to the user's profile and select the prefs tab, it lists out which users they're ignoring.

Can a normal user do that?

You can't see who's ignoring you from your own profile, though. Only the number.

@Undo try it

No prefs tab for me

10:47 PM
Not me

11:03 PM
lol... what happened

Clearly you're hacking! reaches for the ban button

lol
here's the question:

This was never documented before as far as I know

...that's a bad thing? :P

@DoorknobofSnow Where's that?

it's Nick, he has the privilege "Post off topic answer and get all the credit" :D

@Agis nope, it's the fact that one of your posts was used as an audit in the review queue, analyzing and fixing now — Nick Craver 38 secs ago
Ha, a whole new meaning to "You are the victim!!!"

11:52 PM
@Nick wow, "the audit that killed my rep"... good title for a book, or horror movie! :-P — Shadow Wizard 1 min ago

Isn't it bad practice for the review queues to even remotely have the ability to take away all your rep and badges? :P

Hmm, someone should write The audit that killed my rep.
