The Tony/Regex shirt was never made available for purchase, right? And considering the CC-wiki license on the answer, it's okay to make a custom shirt given that I link to the answer, right?

Hi.

@Manishearth Hey. I thought we talked about not calling it that. "Cosmetic voting" is the preferred term.

@jadarnel27 Hey
I'm writing a tool which I can't find on neither the Mac nor the iOS app store.

Oh, going with the double negative there? Nice.

Yup.

A wild @YiJiangsProble appeared!

can I abuse MathJax to center my images?
  x30 kinda works but is meh

Homegrown geofencing tool FTW!
Almost done...

@NickT I've started just padding them with transparency out to max-width.

I like my images centred and bordered. Sitting on the left margin, they often look a little sloppy.

Hey, @Lix.

Lix
@mos - whats up man?

Good good.
@Lix Remember I asked you about geofencing Israel?
I made this really cool app last night.

Lix
@mos - yea I remember...

Still a work in progress, but I can add/edit/remove those points to create geofences.

Lix
Ah - cool man :)

1:24 PM
Yup.

Lix
Looks like you got some areas there that are not part of Israel though :)

@Lix I don't quite know what's what. Which parts? The north?
And I'm not talking about Gaza and WB either. על פי תורה I'm pretty sure those follow the rest of ישראל.

Lix
Well... without getting into politics and such :P You've marked Gaza and the West Bank as parts of Israel...
ahh - ok ok.. in that case...looks good! :)

@Lix Cool. Although technically, I'm missing the Sinai Peninsula then... Eh, I'll ask a Rabbi.
Ok, I have to run to shul now.
15 minutes for the 9:15.

Lix
Cool man - spk to you soon!

1:28 PM
@Moshe An app is not a Rabbi.

Lix
Ha - that one got pushed off the list :P

2:25 PM
Back.

Yo @mos :) I'm a little bit busy ATM, but I'll be back soon! ttyl

@Moshe fairly un-PC map there

@NickT A bali observation, but I'm not about to get into political argument. That map is to calculate religious holidays and prayers, and from a religious perspective, that's the area that needs to be counted in. I'm not picking sides here.
@NickT But. It sounds like you want to argue about this. :P flame war
Oh, and it's a lot easier to draw straight lines than to dig in around Gaza the WB. So it's also laziness.
Just for you, maybe I'll include the Sinai Peninsula in my next screenshot. :P
@NickT havastarthough.

I would like to vent/share some SO related frustrations...
Any takers?

@Lix Go.

ARRRGGHGHGGHGHAHAHHGGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
There... thank you all :)
hehe - no but... I got a few totally random downvotes today that were clearly vengence votes...
And it was becuase someone answered a "too localized" question and I made a remark saying that we should not encourage these questions by providing answers...
Then I commented somewhere else on an answer that said - "Use this search term in google"
I said that this should have been a comment
Then I was attacked by the OP telling me to go annoy someone else because this person was trying to help and I am not...
"Try this search term.." is the epitome of Not An Answer
I said nothing about the actual content of the answer - it was a good suggestion... I only said it should be a comment...
זהו... סיימתי :P
I feel that I'm going to need to explain that starred message later on :P

Q: How do you deal with micromanagers?

Mike CornellIn the past I've worked with several types of project managers. There's the laissez-faire PM who stays ignorant of the process as long as milestones are hit. There's the hands on PM who gets into the innards of the process and tries to block and tackle, removing obstacles. And then there's t...

This post deals with an all to familiar issue - and the advice given is great. However totally OT and a candidate for deletion according to the 2012 cleanup....

Perhaps if a mode stumbles upon this, they can provide a bit more insight into this particular question
From what the OP tells us he has only 2 not particularly bad questions. (Not examples of brilliant questions either, admittedly). His activities seem to have resulted in a question ban. I've made some edits to clean them up, but can't think of what could have caused the problem.
I know mods can't exactly tell what's going on behind the scenes, but perhaps there's something I've missed? Or the OP has indeed not told us all there is and has actually deleted bad/closed questions? In any case, I'm curious. :)

Could anyone recommend me a good rss reader for iPhone?
I've gone through quite some reviews but none have convinced me so much...

@Bart I actually can tell you exactly what's happening in this case: he's not question banned.
The problem is, he keeps posting questions as answers.
And as a result of this is now automatically banned from posting answers.
Which is likely a problem when he goes to ask a new question in the form of an answer.

In computer programming, a constant is an identifier whose associated value cannot typically be altered by the program during its execution (though in some cases this can be circumvented, e.g. using self-modifying code). Many programming languages make an explicit syntactic distinction between constant and variable symbols. Although a constant's value is specified only once, a constant may be referenced many times in a program. Using a constant instead of specifying a value multiple times in the program can not only simplify code maintenance, but it can also supply a meaningful name for ...

Q: c# readonly (const?) function parameters

MarkPComing from a c++ background, I'm used to sticking the const keyword into function definitions to make the object being passed in a read-only value. However, this is not possible in C#, as I found out (please correct me if I'm wrong). So, after some googling, I came to the conclusion that the onl...

Specifically, this answer by Timwi (who, if I recall correctly, has not only participated on Meta but actually hung out in The Tavern).

That sucks. At least they're doing the attribution right (linking to profiles on SO, etc.)

@PopularDemand Lame, but it is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit". I'm surprised you didn't jump right on that, Pop. :P Fixed.

I don't know the first thing about editing conventions/rules/etiquette on Wikipedia. I've only tried making a few non-trivial edits there before, but some were reverted for reasons I didn't understand.

@PopularDemand Ah, fair enough.

Good job, though.
Googling for site:wikipedia.org efreedom shows no other instances, so I guess we're done here.

@Shog9 Ah, thanks. That would explain it indeed. Had me stumped for a reason purely looking at the questions. Thanks a lot for that info.

Would such a question be welcomed on Meta?

For the sake of a personal endeavour, I am studying disagreements. Do you know any heated debates either here or on SO?

I would say no.
Seems like a valid thing to talk about here in chat, though.
You may be interested in this question and the questions it links to; most notably this one.

Would rewording (to add a side aspect to it) help?

Example: On SO/Meta you do not find many heated debates. What do you attribute this to? Any examples of such debates?

@PopularDemand Ah yes, that's a good one...

No, it wouldn't. Your question isn't really about SE or SO; it's about arguments. You could insert any other website or community and the question would be just as valid.
You may also be interested in "the Eeeek post," but I think you'll need 10k on MSO for that now.

But the fact is, I want to make a service for political debates and would like to get to the root of being successful in providing a constructive community.

10:40 PM
@PopularDemand Actually...

So it's design advice I need.

@Majid That's great, but that doesn't make it on-topic for MSO.

(I know, the original one is deleted :P)

Think of it this way: would you ask your question on Super User because you use your computer to save documents related to setting this service up?

Well, that's how it is then I guess :(
This discussion is full of examples of dynamics of motives and moves. I wish I could find more like that:

Well, as I said, you're welcome to ask about it here in chat (you might want to try coming back during US business hours, when more people are here).

@PopularDemand No, you are right. I was hoping it could somehow be sneaked in ;)
@PopularDemand That's a good idea too! Thanks.
