Hmm...
I wonder if it's easier to do a fresh installation of Windows and reinstall all of my software, or wait several hours for this disk image to restore and hope that I can get my computer working again...

Oooh, tough dilemma.

Indeed

I haven't done my weekly backup in about a month.
I should probably think about doing that.

Might not be a bad idea. I made a backup after things started going bad, which is why I'm wary of waiting. :P

I've just been installing so much junk I don't want to waste backup space on I've been putting it off :P
Like the Diablo 3 and Mists of Pandaria betas.
I need a "Don't back this up, ever" partition.
Then I can still do a disk image and not waste as much time/space.

1:08 AM
Heh, nice
Oh, wait. Duh.
I forgot I had another desktop computer here.

Was doing the restore through my laptop over USB 2.0, heh
Perhaps this way will be faster.

sadface

Hahah, aw.

I know. How shall we ever remember the 10,000,000th post on Stack Overflow now?
@DanielFischer It was you!!!

Actually, no.

1:44 AM
My SO meetup was a huge success. If success is measured in having enough sponsor $ to cover free food, drink and stack exchange store stuff for everyone who showed up.

I've confirmed it, those are indeed the units of success.

Excellent.
Cause if you measure it in "Couldn't even bribe more than two other people to come out" it didn't go as well. ;)

That's OK, I kind of forgot that was this weekend. Not that I think anyone planned anything anyway.

Ah, I now understand why I was the only person who didn't know anything about SCADA at that table. phew

gaaah stupid "Let's assume all users with the same IP address are one user" rule...

1:51 AM
Mwahahaha
I mean, oh no!

@mootinator (assuming that was directed at me) yeah. Signed my brother up for a Sports.SE account and now it won't let us both post a question... gotta wait 5 minutes first, lol

@DanielFischer I know. You're too cool to do something like that. Must have been one of the meta-police. Or the nazi mods.

@ThomasShields Heh.

A: Change an element's CSS class with JavaScript

roenvingNo offense, but it's unclever to change class on-the-fly as it forces the CSS interpreter to recalculate the visual presentation of the entire web page. The reason is that it is nearly impossible for the CSS interpreter to know if any inheritance or cascading could be changed, so the short answe...

The answers on this question makes me want to cry

I believe this is HTML5 dependent. — johnthexiii Oct 27 '11 at 17:16

No, I was just being stupid. Ignore me.

You don't have to ask me twice.
/ignore TimStone

:O
No more features for you!

Did you guys hear something?
=)

Tim, he ignored you so he won't be reading what you say :)

2:22 AM
Hahaha

Heh :P

gets pissy that he bought his stupid phone a year ago and the douchey carrier still hasn't let him d/l the firmware which enables hostpot.

Knu
Do you know where bill's at?

meta.stackoverflow.com/a/130617/177471 - I feel a little more creepy
But I honestly know what I am talking about.

Q: Ads on Stack Overflow for jobs outside of US

bguizI'm based outside of the US, and yet the ads that I see on Stack Overflow are always for US based jobs. Is this because SO does not have advertisers outside of the US, or because SO has some setting (that I have have not discovered) that allows you to set your locale? Please, get programmer job ...

Tag ordering on this question is odd - appears at the end instead of the front as it should
Interesting, it seems like it was a (hilarious) rollback that caused it
Seems like required tags were not always the first tag on Meta. Or maybe this was a bug

10:10 AM
@jadarnel27 It's not that I'm too cool for that (I may be, but that's beside the point), I don't have deletion powers. That's why I didn't.

5 hours later…
3:06 PM
Anyone here?

3:20 PM
Yes, sort of.

ditto

kinda

I'm really curious as to who disputed a VLQ flag against stackoverflow.com/questions/10373216/…

I have no idea.
But I know it didn't stop it from being deleted.

it seemed to be the poster child for low quality
wow they've reposted a third self-duplicate of the question
somebody is desperate (for a question ban)

4:08 PM
Hey

Hey
( "Welded on for your ease of use" ) as the room says.

Hmm, good question.

@TimStone I couldn't make select or where or group by do it though, but it does look like and+or are being handled "differently"

Huh, indeed.

Ooo ebay is borked

@awoodland Ah, looks like SQL Server allows for boolean operators in the value passed to CONTAINS() for fulltext searches, which I assume it chokes on if you didn't give it valid left and right sides

@TimStone ah so it fails ungracefully if you happen to type them in without intending them to be operators

7:25 PM
Aye.
Of course, they're stopwords anyway, so either way you weren't getting anything back. I suppose it's bad that you end up on the error page though.
Although supposedly you can use AND NOT, but that doesn't seem to work for me, so perhaps I'm wrong. Let's all just point a finger in Marc's direction anyway, since he's here.
