@Chris The latest one took about half an hour. The others (I'm now up to 12, 9 on SO) have taken between two and six hours, IIRC.

@JeremyBanks Wow; that definitely makes 1000 unique IP addresses seem like a bit of a low bar for a gold badge

@Chris It's a low bar for reddit, hacker news or any of the link aggregation site

But a pretty high one for social networking sites

It also would be harder to get them for a good question than for the no-longer-considered-on-topic questions that lots of the badges are awarded for.

I noticed that my downvote count (votes I cast) has gone down compared to what I saw a few weeks before. I didn't do/undo any downvotes since. What's the explanation then for the change in the count?
