as I said before, it is pretty difficult to make a guess from what you have. I would try in the order:
- Ensure that the title field is indeed of type Text. That should be the case if we are speaking of SharePoint standard title field, but you may never know,
- Try and use the parameter less SPQuery constructor - maybe the view you are constructing the query on has something special to it
- Use a tool like the [U2U Caml Query Builder](http://www.u2u.be/Software) and work up from there.
