how come sometimes the starred post will remove the @ mention at the beginning and sometimes does not?.. 2 examples in The Tavern.. Popular Demand has 2 posts: One about HTTP OK being 199.62 (had a valid @ mention to Michael Mrozek) and the other says @Fosco for the win (kept the @ mention).

It depends whether it is a mention vs an explicit reply.

The name doesn't really exist in an explicit reply. We just pretend it does.

We perhaps should make it consistent, though.
