@JonEricson Could you describe what is on topic here? Or is everything on topic except for Java? The room's description is pretty vague, except for declaring that anything "Java" related is off-topic. Also, do you know why so many MSE chatrooms are so cryptic in their chatroom description? I worry a bit, because such cryptic non-descriptions seem to cater to/welcome only those "in the know", while likely confusing -- and hence, deterring -- all others from posting.
Note, I've spent hours trying to discern what some MSE chats are "about", by sitting on the sidelines and reading transcripts of messages. But I've yet to grasp their purposes.

@Namaste It's a chat room I try to keep open in order to have a place to talk with folks who have something on their mind. (I'd even talk about Java if necessary.)

@JonEricson Thanks!. I have no interest in talking about Java :-). But it's good to know you're accessible here!!

@JonEricson I'd love your input on this: I submitted an edit suggestion on a recent MSE post, knowing full-well that the post would likely be deleted. So my edit was not for "2 points" (which I figured I'd lose), but rather, only to "clean up" a post by someone whose native language is not English, and without embellishment. The edit was rejected. I suppose the reviewers may have felt ...
"... this post is not worth editing, so you shouldn't have bothered editing." Perhaps the reject was more considerate: "thanks for your efforts, but the post will almost certainly be deleted, so it's a waste of time to approve the edit, only to see its deletion, so why seek two points?" Just frustrated, because the edits I do on MSE are hardly for "rep points."

@Namaste A lot of the people who post coding questions on MSE were blocked from asking on SO. Those questions are pretty easy to delete, so the time spent editing is pretty much a waste. Since your edits are going to get reviewed by other users, it's also a waste of their time to look. No amount of editing would ever help that question to get an answer, so it's not a good candidate for editing.

@JonEricson Got it. Better to get rid of as quickly asap. That makes sense. Also about the burden on reviewers. It's been a long time since I've needed to "suggest edits"; I sometimes forget that.
