5 hours later…
8:17 AM
@Tinkeringbell And since no one knows anything, I just got the 'right' letter this morning from the doctor's office. Now, to make an appointment. First call made: "There's so many people calling we can't talk to you right now. Please call back in 30 minutes, this call will be disconnected". Okaaaay

8:49 AM
@Tinkeringbell wait 10 minutes :blobthinksmart:

@Zoethe1337Princess I'm just finishing failed attempt nr. 3.
Oh well, I'll try again after the next meeting. Or get up really early tomorrow morning XD

9:21 AM
Just received my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine last afternoon. Have been told by coworkers to expect bad things to happen this upcoming day.

Yeah, Pfizer is kinda known for giving side effects after the second dose. Drinking lots of water seems to be the recommended 'cure' here.

The vaccines in general have a relatively high chance of side-effects
Fun stuff :')

Yeah. Then again, I seem to remember the general vaccines you get as a kid for e.g. measles to have mostly similar side-effects (sore arm, feverish)

Sore arm is hardly a side-effect
It's literally injecting a liquid into a small area. Of course there's a high chance the area is gonna be sore

My parents exploited loopholes in the rules here to get vaccinated. The rule states that "healthcare workers" get priority; they both follow the letter of that but not the spirit (they work for healthcare-related firms, but aren't actually part of the group the rule is intended to target, one works for a medical device maker and the other for a pharmacy SaaS company)

9:28 AM
@Zoethe1337Princess It's counted as one here.

same here, but I cannot comprehend why

@SonictheCuriouserHedgehog At this point, I'm pretty sure I'm jumping the queue too, given what I wrote yesterday... Then again, all I did was make some calls and relay information I was provided by people that should already know such information.
So, if they're now going to be dumb enough to give me a vaccination, I'm taking it.

I kinda felt the same way for the same reason. Here the BMI threshold for priority is 25+, and I'm 26. I felt like I'd be jumping the queue if I used that excuse, but I later found out that education/childcare workers get priority as well, and I work in that field, so I used that basis instead
I think the state of New Jersey allowed cigarette smokers to cut the line
I can imagine at least a few people picked up a cigarette for the first time to get the vaccine...and ended up with a different health problem to worry about

On the bright side, natural selection at its finest :')

9:55 AM
Oooh! I'm getting music instead of 'we'll disconnect you'... :D

2 vaccinations planned. 45 minutes of waiting this morning, then hung up myself because lunch. ~75 minutes of waiting this afternoon, but I got through... the poor girl sounded out of breath!

Sorry. I'm probably being a major vaxxhole right now....
How you doing?

@Tinkeringbell Nah, it's fine ^^"
Whatever vaxxhole means, but whatever :eyes:

Urban dictionary says it's someone that brags about being fully vaccinated and treats others like 'dirty' because of it.... I've also heard it used for people bragging about having made appointments in some group apps here ;)
Just because well, it can be infuriating to know some people get vaccinated while you still have to wait.

2:39 PM
Yeah XD Over here, with our vaccination strategies, it's especially applicable to people like me.... higher educated, assertive, proactive... Like, if I hadn't called my doctor in the first place, then did all the phone calls yesterday, I wouldn't have had an appointment now. Other people would've quit or never even thought of doing so, because they aren't even aware of the vaccination schedule/strategy and are just waiting....

There's about 3 million people (of 5.5 million, including kids who can't have the vaccine yet because approvals) ahead in the queue

Yeah. I'm preeeetty sure they'll still aim at getting everyone 2 shots before considering giving people a 3rd? I hope so...

Dunno about you lot, but I'm not optimistic about my country
the health department (very creative interpretation; FHI) is considering delaying the second shot
I think it was 3 months between the first and second?

For Astra only, I think.

2:42 PM
Over here, Pfizer was 3 weeks, is now 6, and Moderna is 'at least 28 days'. Mine are 5 weeks apart....
So no telling yet which one I'll get.
Well 3 months between shots is a long time :(

It's an extremely long time
The idea is to speed up 18-45 (which compresses the first shot to July, again assuming none of the other vaccines fall through), but that's all fun and games until a third shot is required

Yeah.

If one ends up being required anyway
So yeah, fun stuff :')
Enough covid talk for me though xd

Hahaha
Okay, no more covid talk.
Ehhmmmmm....
Please hold while I think of a topic :P

2:49 PM
Wait. My tea bags often have good ideas, lemme get one.
This one should suit you! "If you could be an animal for a day, which one would it be and why?"

Wolf, duh :p

Your why is a 'duh'? :P

No, I just like wolves ^^"

Hahaha ;) so, would you be a zoo wolf or a wild one? Lone or pack? :P

Definitely wolf, not sure if I'd go lone or pack, Probably lone if it's for a day

2:54 PM
(depends on the proximity of idiot farmers armed with guns)

@SPArcheon Ah, so pretty much every single farmer in my country :')
Except the armed bit
They complain about how horrible wolves are after they leave their sheep alone with no protection for a week and find a few of them dead xd
I swear, people are the fucking worst

There's some talk of wolves getting back into this country. People are divided: Farmers are afraid they will kill livestock, and there have been a few confirmed wolf kills. On the other hand, wolf experts state that those kills were because the wolves were 'passing through' to find a good territory, and that once they have one, they will hunt almost exclusively on deer/boars.
I just hope they don't eat me, then it's fine :D

Wolves generally avoid humans

Yeah, I know. We smell bad :P

3:02 PM
^^"
Farmers here wanna eradicate wolves
It's pretty clear that they don't understand anything about biology, ecosystems, or the consequences of removing a species

5:09 PM
I love friday pizza ^^"

Nice, pizza! (I've discovered a place that sells them with barbecue sauce and a lot of meat, instead of tomatoes and veggies... that's palatable :D)
Over here, it's more often just Friesday though.

maybe you should try pizza friday :eyes:

I'm not sure my parents would appreciate. Just a few more months though, and I'll have a place of my own. I might just change my eating patterns then :P

Oh, cool ^^

Yeah, looking forward to it :)
How was the pizza?
