1:37 AM
~ Can't we be a bit moar talkative?

4 hours later…

3 hours later…
8:19 AM
@KennyBOT It actually was weekend this time.

8:59 AM
@Tinkeringbell and not a single "Is this weekend" from Kenny during, well, weekends. :P

Yeah, that's what I was getting at...

As if @rene coded that but... no. ;)
Oh hi @Reno long time no see!

Well I had a semi-good weekend at least. Spend basically all day yesterday crafting, and the cardigan I started crocheting before winter is finally nearing completion...

@Reno you did now! :(
@Tinkeringbell nice! And annoying neighbor was away? ;)

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda No, there was noise ;) But I have a 'chamber fountain' now, and the slight low buzz of the pump and the water sounds help drown some of it out. The rest required music ;)

9:05 AM
@Tinkeringbell ah, good. But what about smoking? Remember it also caused you grief in the past. :/

He's cutting back (because it's getting too expensive, yay for taxes :P) so there's less stench, it also helps that the extra 'room' he's building at the back of his house has a roof now, so he smokes there instead of at the front door, and most stench lingers under it and doesn't immediately waft over to me.
It's still going to stink again this summer when I want to be outdoors, there's no really avoiding that, I guess... but inside my apartment, there's much less annoyance now.

9:34 AM
@Tinkeringbell finally some good news! :D

I guess XD
It's 'old' good news for me already, drowned out by loads of other bad news things XD

@Tinkeringbell aww, sorry to hear. What are the bad things? :/

Mostly 'world' things. Ya know... gestures at everything

Wars? :(
ending all wars so that @Tink will be happy :P

Not just wars... but those stopping would please me, yes.
Also things like knowing how many people over here live in poverty, and how harsh other people are when it comes to that...
I mean, there's a new ad on TV for EuroDisney. Its background music is 'part of your world' from the little mermaid, which is a song about going to a place that's out of reach...
Almost like they're gloating: Look how many people can't afford a trip to Disney!

9:45 AM
@Tinkeringbell hmm? And how is this being harsh towards poor people?

I'm at a point where even something as stupid as an ad annoys me.

@Tinkeringbell ahh

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda haha (?)

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda uganda (?)

9:46 AM
?
>>islink dada uganda

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda No, that's not a link.

hmm so weird.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda It's also not the ad that's most harsh, that's just people's opinions. I see/hear too many 'get a better job' 'healthy food isn't expensive, sending your kid to school without breakfast is abuse that shouldn't be fixed by the government giving it breakfast but giving it better parents' etc.

@Tinkeringbell well I can't help much and won't fall to offer trivial advise (e.g. "don't take the world's burdens on your shoulders") so can only hope you'll get past this point, sooner than later. ;)

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Link added.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Yeah. I guess I'll just find a bigger rock to live under and do more crafting and hope my mood improves ;)
I mean, I had been doing that quite well until I accidentally saw some footage from Gaza on TV when at my parent's and dad decided to watch the news.
Now the whole world sucks XD

@Tinkeringbell well like anything else, there are lines. e.g. I read or watched something (don't remember details) about a rich woman who sent her kids to school without any food on purpose, and without any money to buy food there, on purpose. Now that's just evil, and abuse, and such people should be locked for life and never raise children.
But yeah, when one really can't afford, and really trying to get better, it can't really be their fault.

Oh, I thought we were not allowed to mention random stuff from the news.
No, wait, that was on the Discord server.
Right, that's why I left it.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Sure, there are evil people out there, or ones that would abuse 'the system'. Still, I hate that some others think this means it's better to not have a system

9:51 AM
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact depends how random
@Tinkeringbell true

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda certainly (?)

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact I prefer it to be 'fun random' news for a bit, if you don't mind? :P
I'll start XD Local news had an item about a 70+ year old lady that ran a world record time on the half marathon for the 70+ year old category... her reaction? "I'm going on vacation and I'm not touching those running shoes again for the next three weeks"

> Did you know? It is estimated that there are more than 33 billion chickens worldwide! Outnumbering the human population, chickens are one of the most common farm animals. Get the s-coop on these eggs-traordinary animals here!
(source ;))

I wanna be a 'devil may care' old lady like that if I ever get to live past 70. But I'm not running marathons :P
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Yay, food :D
4 chickens for each person, I think?
Perhaps 5, I bet there are some with dietary restrictions :P

10:02 AM
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Just mentioned UNRWA for a jokingly drive-by response.
@Tinkeringbell Ok, funny jokes from the news: Vladimir Putin won the Russian election.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact no way
Against all odds!

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Not funny like that.... Just fun news that makes you happy!

Who could've possibly foreseen this?

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact you

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda bastard (?)

10:03 AM
@FOX9000 not

@Tinkeringbell No such news today.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda ronald (?)

@FOX9000 Roland

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda frankish (?)

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda No, I thought Iosef Stalin would win.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact no IO for him!
But nah, Putin worked hard to beat Stalin, he deserves proper respect, just for that. :D
and since we're so random let me take random image with my generator...
Done.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact That does sound like fun!

Also in same page:

10:08 AM
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda "image not found"

@Tinkeringbell huh, weird, maybe location based??

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda I think it may be the work laptop blocking something.
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda This one does show.

ah it shows the page, not image. imgur became smarter in blocking hotlinks.
Try going to the link, you'll probably see the imgur page for the image.
And last interesting one from the random images page, gif. ;)

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda I see they are building Coruscant.

(interesting, looks like NSFW rate dropped a lot in recent years, maybe imgur started cleaning up?)
When just writing the generator, about one of two pages had at least one NSFW image. Now I need to reload a lot to see one. D:

10:14 AM
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda They banned it, I think.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact so you see it! Ah, maybe Tink's laptop is blocking it indeed then. Odd.
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact it was always banned officially, as far as I remember. But probably just not enforced.

More funny jokes from the news: the new Russian president threatens with WW3, and Donald Trump threatens with a bloodbath if he loses the election.
Oh, and a gang of 15-20 teenagers went into a classroom to threaten another guy with a pistol, back in January. Oslo.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact only threaten?! Pfft, n00bs.
:-D

Oh, and a municipality may pay for a new football stadium. What a waste of money.

10:18 AM
@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard yeah I'm (not) here.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda never mind, after third reload something popped up, and ruined the fun, I'm done with the RIG for today.
:P

Oh, that's not the message you replied to.
Oh, then.
Let's find some even localer news-.

10:39 AM
Meh.
Not scary at all.

Somebody shot 40 golf balls into somebody else's garden.
Apparently, teenagers.

Nice, they could use them for something useful.
The new owners.

A van crashed.
@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard Golf balls have no use.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact I'll find anyway.
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact That's a signal.

New study found that 10% of the population has done plastic surgery.
@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard Like what?

10:41 AM
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Fill in the unused space
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Not scary.

@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard Who says it has to be scary?
It's just random news.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Nobody.
Just keep sending random news.

Yeah, I didn't care to read more than the headline.
Wait, what?!
That's a family of four!
Those people look like teenagers!
They're 24...
Ok, that's enough.
I'm bored.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Play chess

Don't want to.
I'll go look at the meat that's boiling.

10:47 AM
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Then you're not bored.

I am.
Life's boring.
Maybe I should volunteer as a soldier.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact When you don't know the purpose, yes. When you do, no.

11:07 AM
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Ah yeah, that works. As long as Chrome isn't hogging all memory and freezing the entire laptop XD
I felt like I was back in the 90s again, on the first computer we had back home. Click, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait, click.

@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard nah that's total crap :D

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda total crap is "privet tenevoi volshebnik"

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact exactly! Actions, not words.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Probably a better use than buying new submarines...
For billions. Our government is doing that. While we never even use submarines!

@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard or זה לגמרי קקה :P

11:09 AM
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda roflol

No associated word found for roflol.

@Tinkeringbell ah, and Israel bought extra submarine for like $1B for no good reason other than giving money to people involved.

>>continue roflol roflolmao

@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard roflolmao (?)

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact I looked like 14 when I was 24
But think age got me at some point. :(
@Tinkeringbell yay!

11:12 AM
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda The argument here is that the three we currently have are 'too old'. So what? Make them scrap metal... and spend the billions on solving actual problems instead of big-dickery for the navy.
Like I said, it's not like the submarines get any use anyways... the regular navy boats, sure... they get some use when there's pirates again, but you never read that a submarine successfully sank a bunch of pirates...

@Tinkeringbell oh, I see. Well I do agree submarines are important and gives a big benefit, but no need for 20, or even 10, or probably even four. Experts decide how many are needed, and every extra is just a mistake.
@Tinkeringbell nah, think it's part of the "doomsday plan", i.e. way to carry nukes from one place to the target place.
Most countries these days already have good aerial protection, so a way to stab them from the back ocean is important.

Well if they're really that important, the government/navy is doing a lousy job of propaganda in convincing me of that... All news articles I've seen so far are basically only saying we need new ones because the old ones are old. Nothing else to justify spending billions
If they really were that important I would at least expect regular news articles on the successes of 'our' submarines.
(taken with a seriously big grain of salt of course because they would be propaganda, but still)

@Sha Check, mate.

@Tinkeringbell No, those new submarines are a necessity.
But they're only buying 3, which sucks.
We need at least 8.
They're twice as big as the current ones, though.
@Tinkeringbell Oh, yours. Yes, you do. You're a naval country. Submarines are an integral part of your defenses.

Where are we going to even leave 8 submarines? Dutch waters aren't that big, no need for 8 at all...

11:24 AM
Norway had 8 submarines.
Your military isn't only meant to defend the Netherlands. It's also meant to help defend the rest of NATO.

Yeah well, rest of NATO can suck it for a bit and make do with the three we have, while we use the money to actually solve real problems.
I doubt the Russians are gonna come at us through the North/Wadden Sea anytime soon.
It's not even ocean, it's sea.

Congrats, that mindset sets you up for an invasion.
That's precisely the mindset many European countries had before WW2 hit them.
My own included.

I kinda know, but then the problem was Germany, not Russia. Russia is much farther away.
It was kinda stupid to think that with Germany as a neighbor, nothing would happen here.

@PetəíŕdTheLinuxWizard lol

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda hahaha (?)

11:34 AM
Russia is your neighbor too.
They have a long border to NATO, and they are warmongers.
There will not be peace until the current regime falls.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact and the next one

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Yeah well it's not like the submarines are actually working to make the regime fall. The whole army here is doing nothing "because NATO hasn't been attacked yet".
If they really want to prove they need this, go make a war already and fix the problem before it gets worse.
How hard can it be to assassinate one ruler?
Surely there's specially trained people that don't need a submarine for that.

@Tinkeringbell of course, question is how they can get close enough to use their skills.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Well unless Putin is known to live in the middle of a sea/ocean... not with a billion money submarine.
So I dunno, invest in jetpacks or something?

All this talk about wars made me hungry. eating a wafer with the coffee

11:41 AM
@Tinkeringbell Will you not appreciate them the day NATO is attacked?

@Tinkeringbell teleportation

The weaker your military is, the stronger the invitation to make an invasion.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda ability (?)

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Invisibility cloaks.
And portals ;)

@Tinkeringbell nah surely Putin can see those.

11:42 AM
@Tinkeringbell He lives isolated. He's paranoid.
And if somebody assasinates him, another worse person will take over.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Then worry him to death.

The entire regime must fall.

But if one can Teleport and materialize out of nowhere just few inches from the target...
So far think scientists used Teleport to move a single atom a few meters. :D

Anyhow... all these things are making me cranky again. I just want the government to fix the housing market, healthcare, living wages, and pensions before buying submarines.
It's called priorities.

So surely now they can move it even 5 meters.
And in 100 years, 50 meters. :D

11:46 AM
@Tinkeringbell None of that will matter the day you will regret not having submarines.

@AndreasmovedtoCodidact I dunno. Perhaps I will never regret the submarines, it's not like the current government is fixing problems.
