@Wolgwang it's just formal process to make sure staff see it. It creates a new item in their internal backlog system, which they should, in theory, watch closely, even if not checking up on the SE sites. (Which is usually the case, they rarely respond to any comments.)
@SPArcheon well the most famous and having most impact is of course Monica scandal. The rest were minor compared to that, until now. But no, can't think of anything big enough to mention besides what you said. I'd sort questions by votes on MSE, and sip through the last pages, in order to find what you look for. ;)
I do have couple more, lost access to one, and created another to have 1 rep everywhere, to test a chat bug.
@PeterKolosov your hand.
It's too yellow, should see a doctor. :D
oh oh and @rene saw all my socks. :P
This reminds me, there was once a GTCoMS game here, which was Guess The Color of My Shirt, can also be Sock instead. So @Zoe what's the color of your sock(s) today? ;)
@Andreasdetestscensorship quite the same for most people, it's not like they develop life saving medicine... we do small things for small companies, never to be really seen by many. :)
I really want to stay in the SE community, but I feel like I’m getting pushed out by everyone, including SE, active community members, striking community members, etc.
Well, I’ve been trying to be a voice for those community members that have reached apathy, and are too angry at SE to have any effort available for spending the strike at reaching a better future with SE. But there’s so much pushback from certain strike organizers.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack Because at almost every single interaction with them, I get into an argument, at this point. Heck, I came to the SE chat just now to ask a simple question, and I get into an argument with Cody. I’m mentioning him by name, because we usually talk well together.
And it seems as if everyone is intentionally misunderstanding what I write, and accusing me of being unconstructive, while praising other people saying or doing the exact same as me. Why does it have to be personal against me?
And I’m so frustrated at community members behind the strike giving in to the manipulation from SE. SE staff is participating in the strike organizing chat, speaking of their personal feelings, and how we need to calm down so we don’t hurt them. It’s rotten.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack In fact, I do think that one or two staff members in there are sincere about their personal feelings, and that’s what makes it so bad!
I’m angry at the leadership, but am being told that I cannot provide my honest thoughts about it, because it hurts those poor staff members on the bottom! So what am I supposed to do? Call off the strike, because it’s uncomfortable? Because Philippe says in his post that it challenges the friendships?!
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack They can’t! They are just CMs.
We have come to this point because SE gives a fuck about us, our feelings, our needs, and speaks to us like shit. And then they come ask for us to show respect, talk nicely, and not use harsh language, because it hurts them. SO STOP DOING IT TO US!!! I’m so sick of strike organizers attempting to ban me from calling a lie, a «lie».
But then on the topic of asking community members to abstain from vandalizing the site, my calm and kind sentence and tone suggestions are declined, because two or three people have no respect for vandalizers, so those people we are fine with bashing.
I’ve been trying to make the strike speak for more than just one part of the community, but it’s so annoying.
Aaaaaarggghhh!!!!
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack That’s what they’re constantly doing in the strike organizing chat. And then other strike organizers praise them for it. When I point out the mistakes there, and what’s happening, I am only met with unfriendly charges of being unconstructive.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack I do understand why they feel bad over it, but they need to be calm, and not infiltrate us with it. It’s a dirty method.
How about just listening to us instead, and not attempt to make us back out in fear of causing personal damage to those on the bottom?
But no, the leadership refuses to step forward.
They send their staff forward as cannon fodder.
Are we gonna give in to that?
NO!
I think I’ve ventilated enough for now.
Other than that, I’d be happy to share more about my entirely shitty personal life, hadn’t this been a public place.
@Andreasdetestscensorship of course, but I'm past that stage. But angry only at SE management, I'm not part of the strike group so can't see what's in there, though doesn't sounds something I'll get angry at.
nothing specifically. You just vented out frustration about how the strike is going and I pointed out that by now I can't even bring myself to think that everyone claiming to support the strike is really supporting the strike
