@PrincessLuna makes sense.... I think. Cheers for finding and fixing it!

It's still partially broken
Trying to figure it out.

So blame still breaking it?

10:08 AM
It's not blame
It wasn't blame*
The second command broke it no matter what that was. That's fixed
the problem now is that login fails periodically
More specifically, [chat domain]/ws-auth returns 404

Can't figure out the event system
    listedValues.stream().filter(n -> n.getKey().equals("r" + id)).forEach(n ->{
                if(n.getKey().equals("e")) {
                    System.err.println("Event ------");
                    Iterator<JsonNode> items = n.getValue().elements();
                    items.forEachRemaining(event -> {

                        System.err.println(event.toString());

                    });
                    System.err.println("/Event ------");
                }
            });
The first filtering works, but the second one ends up with [ "e": [...]]
which apparently doesn't work for some reason, because it's a nameless array
Trying to change the system a bit to enable event registration
            listedValues.stream().filter(n -> n.getKey().equals("r" + id)).forEach(n ->{
                Iterator<JsonNode> items = n.getValue().elements();
                items.forEachRemaining(o ->{
                    JsonNode nd = o.get("e");
                    if(nd != null){
                        System.err.println("Event ------");

                        items.forEachRemaining(event -> {

                            System.err.println(event.toString());

                        });
                        System.err.println("/Event ------");
Not that either
The iterator might help

~ Not everything is star-worthy...

8:11 PM
@rene you wouldn't happen to have an idea why /ws-auth periodically fails, would you?

8:44 PM
@PrincessLuna Uh no. With what error?

~ Stars get removed under peer-pressure?

@PrincessCelestia correct

@ShadowWizard inaccurate (?)

@rene 404 from the looks of the logs. Let me double-check that
yep
Periodically it's random, other times it's 100% of the time. Can't run @PrincessCelestia atm because it fails when establishing the socket
I POST to https://chat.meta.stackexchange.com/ws-auth with roomid and the fkey. It crashes because the conversion to JsonNode fails (HTML != JSON), and I get HTML because of a 404

8:50 PM
@PrincessLuna weird. I would almost expect you're IP throttled because that is the only reason I can think of it would fail.

Wouldn't that block regular chatting too?

@rene that might be if it would check cross domain, Shog just posted a graph showing @Princess is one of the top active SO chat users.
(so tons of requests from her IP)

Damn, 15k

@PrincessLuna you have access to that roomid? account at > 20 rep?

37 rep, roomid should be fine (assuming it is i.e. 721 for this room, and not something else that I have to find somewhere >.<)

8:54 PM
@PrincessLuna do you have all the body content of that 404? Is there maybe extra info in the page that you get?

Response code: 404

wait, what?
It's not logged in?
tf
I validate that with a call to make sure the inbox is present, it doesn't make sense that it's not there

Yep, you're not logged in
You keep updating the cookies for each call?

But that doesn't add up. I log in before that call, store the cookies
yeah

hold on

@PrincessLuna store how? Maybe something is still static?

9:00 PM
The map isn't static. Assuming I've done everything right, it should get updated.
The weird part here is the occurences
Right now I can't get through on my computer or pi. Earlier today it was random
Login doesn't fail, or the validation would detect it
Just invalidated all the bot account sessions
did not work
Works on my computer now
still fails on the pi

@Moosebot kill @PrincessLuna's bug

user280395
> Ninjas surrounded @PrincessLuna's bug one day... That is all.

... and fails everywhere again

@PrincessLuna well, it works for me ....
I was thinking that maybe the openid deprecation was involved somehow
@PrincessLuna is the ws-auth call the first one you do after you have logged in?

No, I run a validation call to /users/current and make sure the inbox is there
     public void logIn() throws IOException {

        String targetUrl = (host.getName().equals("stackexchange")
                ? SEEvents.getSELogin(Objects.requireNonNull(host.getMainSiteHost()))
                : SEEvents.getLogin(Objects.requireNonNull(host.getMainSiteHost())));

        if (getName().equals("stackexchange")) {
            Connection.Response se = HttpHelper.post(targetUrl, cookies,"from", "https://stackexchange.com/users/login#log-in");
            targetUrl = se.body();
That's the main site login. For the room connection, I find the fkey listed in the room, and use that

9:19 PM
It is all https right?

there is nothing that jumps at me that looks strange

    public String getWSURL() throws IOException{
        String url = post(parent.getHost().getChatHost() + "/ws-auth", 10,
                "fkey", fkey,
                "roomid", Integer.toString(id)
        ).get("url").asText();

        if(url == null)
            throw new NullPointerException();

        /**
         * This should be a better approach than System.currentTimeMillis. If it's in any way behind, connection
         * fails.
         */
        String time = JsonUtils.convertToJson(HttpHelper.post(parent.getHost()
    public void createSession() throws Exception{
        Connection.Response connect = HttpHelper.get(SEEvents.getRoom(parent.getHost().getChatHost(), id),
                cookies);
        int statusCode = connect.statusCode();

        if(statusCode == 404){
            parent.leaveRoom(id);
            throw new RoomNotFoundException("SERoom not found!");
        }

        fkey = connect.parse().select(SEChat.FKEY_SELECTOR).val();

        ClientEndpointConfig config = ClientEndpointConfig.Builder.create()
The fkey is fine. I've printed it multiple times, even when getting a 404. It's not null
The cookies from the main class are shared with SERoom (through the constructor).

@PrincessLuna the only thing I do different here is that I first call /events and then ws-auth

But these periodic failures is what confuses me. I can't figure out why it only works some of the time
@rene I'll try
No clue if it'll help though
nope
still 404
sigh I guess I have to do this the hard way. Printing everywhere

9:30 PM
weird. I still think somehow your cookies get invalidated

But that's what I can't get to make sense
It works fine at times, but other times it doesn't
So what could randomly invalidate them?

the cross-site forgery check?

The what?

it is late here ...

The failing version only gets prov in the cookies
the chatuser doesn't get added
the login cookies seem to never get added

9:37 PM
those get added on the first http get after you authenticated, IIRC

On the failing one, the only one I get with a value is prov
Might be a local problem. Gonna nuke the gradle caches I can find, rebuild, and see if it helps
Anyways, thanks for the help @rene

@PrincessLuna no problem

9:54 PM
So I'm dealing with a bug that I can't reproduce all the time that may or may not be because of CSRF and cookie invalidation... I'm gonna go to sleep. If it doesn't work tomorrow, I'll just use ChatExchange. Sounds better than chasing down a bug I can't figure out that also periodically affects older jars that I can't reproduce everywhere and can't figure out why happens. Gn o/
