My Gold, Silver and Bronze Tag Badges query now works as expected, by pushing my Select Tops into sub queries as I suggested above. Clearly the Select Top Union Order By does do something different to what is expected.

Hmm
Looks like there's a two-fold bug related to cached execution plans.

I changed it so that cached execution plans aren't randomly shown unless the user resubmits with the checkbox checked...I think that makes the most sense.

I just actually compared the results of your query and mine. Yours does not cater for the fact that a Gold badge implies a Silver and Bronze badge, etc.

Ah, of course. Let me see if there's an easy way to resolve that.

Q: Need help in writing custom attribute in MVC

user184842I have to write custom attribute to check dependent property using MVC pattern.I am using System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations for checking required fields. My WPF application contains listview control. All my properties written in modal class get filled in listview when view is loaded first time...

...Don't do that, please. |:
@MarkHurd Hm, I admittedly can't see a good way to fix that right now. I also think that your query is marginally faster, anyway.

It didn't seem that way for me last night; yours seemed faster.
Admittedly that was comparing my non-working version.

That may have been the result of caching. On my local Data Explorer, your query runs in 55 ms, and mine in 95 ms. Mine also returns too many records...Not entirely sure how that's possible.
Suppose that's what I get for attempting to be clever, heh. :P
