I think in cases of rooms like SOCVR, which has pretty strict moderation.... the rule that you need a bot account with enough reputation to post can help a bit in reducing the amounts of requests people get to 'please add this bot to the list'.

In a room like this one, there's not really so much need for such rules, so if you don't use the bot and it's write access to do things you couldn't on you main account, it's no problem.

At my workplace, we use a combination of VB.Net and C# to bring to life an automated metal cutting table. Is it sometimes frustrating? Sure. But I feel like it would be similarly frustrating with any other language.
