@Mithoron and lemme tell you more of the legend of MAR the grumpy: I didn't enjoy the first two episodes of Ms. Marvel at all
It felt too shallow and "Disney" for me. A main protagonist that's not a remarkable person at all, maybe not evil, but definitely not remarkable. Her sidekicks were both more likeable and remarkable. It was full of the narcissistic "you're very special and unique" Disney crap.
And it was yet another production where Islam and Middle East are just like themes for the character. The character and her family could have been from Uganda or France and it wouldn't have made a difference.

@M.A.R. I don't see any serious point in your rant. Feels like you just don't want to like it, so why watch, I guess.

The serious point in my rant is the show failed to stand out from even the dullest high school Disney TV show.
@Mithoron Moon Knight wasn't that, 80 percent of what I watch isn't like that. As I said, I was looking for ATLA, and instead got Even Stevens or some crap.

It was like if Scorsese made Slingblade
Mind you, the director is I think the guy that wrote Taxi Driver's screenplay, but I could be wrong.
It's like he's the A++ lister with a crapton of money and fame, and one feels like giving credit to him is pretty superfluous. Besides, he's a leading figure in the "celebrity to simp for" club, and how some people worship him totally turns you off.
But all I'm saying is now I hear Oscar Isaac's in a movie, and I immediately put that movie in a watchlist. Not like DiCaprio, maybe like Brad Pitt's older movies.
Of course, my bigger, more nuanced grievances with Ms. Marvel is she's an American that happens to be brown and that has some Urdu stuff at her home. She might have become less relatable and harder to follow if she inched any closer to Pakistani culture than showing someone a necklace with her name in "Arabic", so the show, as I said, just decided to earn diversity points with her background. There were a couple of genuine moments, but they involved the comic relief dad.
It comes terribly close to cultural appropriation, even though I'm normally pretty wary of minorities sanctioning and sealing away their culture in the name of "cultural appropriation".
Granted, Moon Knight is a more entertaining story. Just make the guy pass out and cut to some crazy scene with a lot of blood and then slowly connect the dots. Besides, Moon Knight avoided "cultural appropriation" pretty deftly, they restricted themselves to the mythology, they didn't try to have this awkward bonding scene with the inferior brown savages where inevitably the question of the superiority of the white culture is brought up by how enlightened they are about women or something.
And Moon Knight didn't play loud music every 30 seconds while the characters were just mundanely walking here and there, but I'm chalking that up to not being in the mood for loud things the day I watched Ms. Marvel
So, what happens in episodes 3 to 6? The bad lady tempts her with some ancient power or some Machiavellian logic or tries to gain her sympathy with her plot for revenge or something. She becomes more distant from her awesome totally supportive future boyfriend, who I think deserves to be the protagonist BTW. She might get closer to Kamran. Kamran might be a tragic villain that has no choice but to follow his mother, or just that awkward guy she's gonna friendzone by the end.
She will of course learn the value of selflessness or somesuch, and will make things right with the white boyfriend who's also hot. She will go back and tell her family how wrong she was to push them away, and they will simultaneously apologize for being inconsiderate, one-dimensional puritans. The hijabi girl will have some more crazy adventures in exposing the hypocrisy in Sharia law and how she's been the first person ever to think of all the holes and inconsistencies in their culture
