@Mithoron yeah!
I'd give it an A for effort. Not A+.
Pros: Rewatchable, very faithful to source material, so much that I felt like I was rewatching some scenes, because when reading Dune I had imagined them to be exactly like the movie portrayed them. Cons: Too much story packed in to give characters time to settle in, and things happening too fast for the audience to try to place the characters (good guy, not so-goodish guy, loyal, that's essentially the only adjectives you can give a character before they go die or something)
Though I suspect it would have been a misfire if it didn't try to pack so many things into one movie.
All in all, I wanted it to be at least half as slow as other Villeneuve movies. Instead it was sorta like theater, characters barging in and saying their lines, and you have to spent twice the time of the movie to try to unpack what was said and done.
Oh but the biggest bonus was the visuals. God. F*cking. Damn.
All in all, you could say that, as far as big projects go, it has enough passion that it doesn't feel like just a cash grab.
And you know Denis deserves the recognition
@M.A.R. spend
It had to do a lot of worldbuilding too, so I guess part II will be much better and more focused.

@M.A.R. IIRC they still call it a slog...

@Mithoron So much is happening and being said that people zone out maybe.
I mean, how much action do you see in Book 1 of Dune? Only a little at the end, and even then it's not much of a fight because the Atreides are being Starked.

:D

Though to be fair, since Starks came 30 years after the Atreidessese . . . Atreidesae, it would be them who get Atreidedsed.

Watched half of saul 5

It gets kinda weird to me. Kim fighting with Mesa Verde?
And this guy she wants to help is an asshole. Pretty wise, maybe, but he's eating up Saul's ideas like candy.
This Am from detectors :D Pretty creative...
