Did you watch Vivarium? @M.A.R @Mith
I did last night and got very disappointed.... so much potential, so poorly given.
It's science fiction horror movie disguised as cheap action thriller.
Done right, it could be so much better. :/

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 First heard, but after some searching it seems you put your hopes too high. Or maybe tendency to harsh criticism is rubbing off on you ;)

2:04 PM
@Mithoron nah, I've watched other movies recently and despite bad reviews liked them. So it's not me. ;)
And I had no hopes, it was "idle watching".

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 I feel like horrors are waste of time if you want some logic, some actually good film

@Mithoron horror in the sense heroes don't survive
But it's so fussy and unclear that it just makes no sense.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Had similar feelings with "Us" even if it got some absurdly good critic reviews

hmm didn't hear about it.

Us is a 2019 American horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele, starring Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker. The film follows Adelaide Wilson (Nyong'o) and her family, who are attacked by a group of menacing doppelgängers. The project was announced in February 2018, and much of the cast joined in the following months. Peele produced the film alongside Jason Blum and Sean McKittrick (the trio previously having collaborated on Get Out and BlacKkKlansman), as well as Ian Cooper. Filming took place from July to October 2018 in California, mostly in Los Angeles,...
This stupid thing^
Well acted, directed, etc. but simply made no sense

2:11 PM
bummer
Vivarium also has decent actors.
Kid is the best, somehow.
@Mithoron wait, like GoT season 8?! :D

IMO GoT season 8 mostly did make sense, but was just poorly executed, dumb down etc. With "Us", the whole idea made no sense, but execution was OK

hmm.... not sure I agree with "poorly executed", need to (re)watch it first.
Actors are great, director made fine job, the story/plot itself is awful.
oh this reminds me, worst movie I've seen in recent years is with the King Slayer.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 story/plot isn't awful, just too condensed, skipping stuff that would make it really work. It's poor scripting
It's the details that are important and without books they didn't know them and didn't have a writer to fill it up

2:47 PM
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Huh, what King Slayer?

3:28 PM
You mean with the actor who played Jamie?

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 I haven't even watched Aq-varium
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 you can watch Shot Caller instead. It redeems him as a good actor
@Mithoron watching Dune tomorrow!
Woohoo
Haven't been this hyped about any movie recently
