@M.A.R. Maybe better talk about the world of the game? Did you brush up on this Tamriel thing? ;)

3 hours later…
5:00 PM
@Mithoron Hah, quite a bit. Though since I tried everything out as my first run, both really great deeds and immoral things, I'm not that immersed in the lore. Not that the story and the dialogue is as immersive as Planescape anyway.
Though I'm sure only about the most general stuff, I think. If you tell me whether Plagius the Mad was in the second era or third, hm, not sure

1 hour later…
6:22 PM
What other games are as good as Planescape in storytelling and generally being a 'great book to play'? Or is it just Planescape?
That'd make me sad. I always have this warm and fuzzy feeling towards Planescape, even though I sucked at it and am doing much better with Skyrim
@Mithoron I have the tab open for future endeavors

6:45 PM
@M.A.R. Maybe there are some comparable, but I did play them.
Probably not, though.
I didn't check Torment: Tides of Numenera, or Tyranny, though.
Oh, perhaps Disco Elysium? It's a different thing, but story and character-wise it may be comparable

@Mithoron nothing remotely about Planescape or maybe even one of its characters? Hulk sad :(
Though if it is nearly as good then it's definitely worth trying
I never knew I'd enjoy interactive books.

Mhm, seems it's very text based and there's no fight mechanics!

What interests me the most in Skyrim is the dwemer and the falmer. The latter because of the torment and the melancholy of their story, and the former because mystery!
And I notice the politics of different courts, as told in the different lore books is actually more mature compared to other lore

@M.A.R. Morrowind is much about Dwemer
They are quite interesting.

@Mithoron If there's nothing to gamify, it might get boring, but I'd definitely have to try it, because if I'm gonna spend time on a game instead of a novel, a good writing would be a huge bonus
@Mithoron Huh. Sad that it didn't work the first time, and I wasn't feeling like really pushing until I solve every problem and install them successfully. I'd definitely try though

7:01 PM
Dwemer tried hard to understand underpinnings of the world

It was actually giving me one of those 0x errors, and some online blog said it has to do with not having Steam. So it might be an XY problem.

Manipulated "Bones of Earth" virtually stopping entropy!

And anyway the guy is probably wrong since Skyrim worked and I would expect a newer game to be more heavily reliant on accounts and Steam and crap

@M.A.R. Bluscreen?

@Mithoron No, it just failed to initialize the game. And I tried reinstalling twice or thrice
I have never had a bluescreen on this computer, hmm

7:04 PM
May be related to too new system

@Mithoron they're not gone in Morrowind, right?
Becoming ethereal after the heart of Lorkhan thing
And how is it every Dwemer vanished all at once? Surely just a couple of Dwemer were present when they were tapping into the heart of Lorkhan?

@M.A.R. Dwemer? They are, but it's about heart of Lorkhan etc.

Is there more of Sithis?
@Mithoron oh! hmm

@M.A.R. Actually there is at least One in there, who survived
But because he wasn't on the Mundud at the time

Nice

7:07 PM
He was in some other dimension so it didn't hit him

So they died? I was hoping they became something like energy beings and such

@M.A.R. It's left unsure
They tried to become something like that, but either they left very thoughly or unmade themselves

Anyway I just find the grand and weird stuff in their 'lands' fun. Skyrim has a nice blend of mundane and simple threats mixed in with stuff almost everyone is supposedly oblivious of
If it was all magic and voodoo it wouldn't have been as fun
Also next boss I find to try the new difficulty is dukaan and he? she didn't even shoot for some reason
I'm just as expert difficulty though. Legendaried the important stuff so I'm grinding
And it's honestly not bad. For example I legendaried Light Armor and soon enough I was back to 35 or 40 to add the couple of perks I liked
Next game I will finally enchant my stuff
But no exploits, I'm an honorable thief mage dragonborn salad

@M.A.R. You want to start again? Well I didn't tell you about real exploits :D

@Mithoron oh no, I just meant next time I open skyrim

7:15 PM
@M.A.R. If you heavily improve it perks improving armor can be used elsewhere

I was worried every step of the way that I was exploiting something by being able to enchant better stuff than the game already. But the one glitch I read about at least needs deliberate intentions
@Mithoron yeah
The 'fortify restoration' glitch
Which apparently has been known for a decade and still isn't fixed

@M.A.R. :D
Of course it's not :D
But then again, you could just use console and raise whatever up to eleven
It doesn't break the game so they didn't care.

Also I slept like after 250 days and the Dark Brotherhood lady showed up, haha
Imagine her biding all that time
DOESN'T THIS IDIOT SLEEP

:D

Though I slipped and didn't kill her instead, so I'm stuck with these bastards.
The real Ser Duncan would have given that brat Aretino a clout in the ear
Though he did keep stumbling into bad situations

7:24 PM
@M.A.R. Oh, it seems there some black humor and comedic sociopathy coming at least

@Mithoron I did talk with them a bit, except for the guy that would give me the first quests. They were all overly dramatic losers
Like if they were funny or something, like Deadpool or something like that . . . But they were just arrogant shits. Except that white bearded guy.

Huh, maybe slaughtering them I didn't miss much then :D
@M.A.R. Not much is about Sithis. It's in the Void outside of creation
Some avatar of entropy, change and chaos

@Mithoron You have no idea. TBH I did have your "these are just to make the game edgy" thing in mind. And once I go downstairs to meet my new colleagues, they were in a circle, exchanging dialog "huehue, haha, I'm so tough and bad, I killed them right there, the amount of blood was awesome", and this vampire girl was calling the bearded ex-companion 'adorable', it was so annoying
Well, I probably can't communicate why it was so annoying. Everything about it was cliched.
And since I'm going to be an assassin-for-hire, I'm gonna kill miserable lonely women in farms probably because some sicko took offense or something. Not looking forward to that

@M.A.R. tsk, tsk, no appreciation for assasin humor :D

Only if it was humor
The old mage among them might have some good dialogue. The rest were just introducing themselves as awesome this and awesome that
Meanwhile, I dunno what to do about Markarth

7:38 PM
@M.A.R. What, this dumb mine prison thing?

I can only go to jail there to continue the quest, but there are unremovable quest stuff they take from me that I don't get back
@Mithoron Yeah
A very non-ideal solution is to write everything down and get them back from the console one by one (The Black Books, the Stones of Berenziah etc.)
Not looking forward to that. So I'm just ignoring there

@M.A.R. You do get stuff back

I stayed away long enough for a bounty hunter to come, paid my bounty, nothing happened
Scammers
@Mithoron Not quest items, I tried it once

They shouldn't take them at all

Well to go to jail the guard takes your things, no?

7:41 PM
Yeah, but real important stuff should stay
Seems some bug

They didn't. For example IIRC last time the Stones of Berenziah were gone.
@Mithoron In UESP it does list it as a bug
It's my dumb luck
I had aetherium shards then too, they were gone too, this one I'm sure of.

Some new Special bug maybe

So I reloaded a save and killed the guards

huh, you should have loaded earlier save to not continue this dumb thing

I was too ahead in the game for that

7:46 PM
Now you could leave all stuff and go to jail or just ignore the thing

Thankfully there hasn't been a single Markarth quest since. Except for the thieves
@Mithoron If I just kill them every time, I think only the Jarl would be hostile to me. The citizens resume normally
Set a record for that bounty ;)

7:58 PM
@M.A.R. You could use Bend Will or something
You did some some dragonriding with it?
It's one of ways to have a dragon fight for you.
Other ones are two shouts - one calling one summoning

@Mithoron the cooldown wouldn't help. Or would it be permanent on a guard?
Though I suspect if I go away a while and come back they'd respawn?

It's temporary

Oh.

Not all that powerful
at least for the ado to get it
In Morrowind there were spells and some power for mind control without such hassle

@Mithoron go play your fancy magics somewhere else. So what? You can cast a few spells. Am I supposed to be impressed?
New favorite hobby: Shouting black robed assholes off fort ceilings

8:08 PM
:D

8:59 PM
@M.A.R. Well, in Morrowind there would be reasons to be impressed. You'd be surprised how thoroughly they castrated earlier magic, first in Oblivion and then in Skyrim.
