@Mithoron Well I think that's sorta the point. I've made my peace with the fact that a movie will never feel as genuine as the book it's based on, not just because it's visual feedback vs your own imagination. So I'm thinking there could be no better LOTR movies, so it's hating something that tried its best

The Hobbit trilogy, well, it was pretty entertaining, though I don't deny that one sees that there's lots of room for improvement

Still, people love to dogpile on Jackson movies for pedantic reasons, it's become like an established tradition

@M.A.R. Film can be actually better then the book it's adapted from, but it's difficult and changes need to introduce things that are better not worse.

Arguably Stardust and Edge of Tomorrow did that.
