A: Is there a list of non-moderators who have stated they suspended activities due to recent events?

rockwalrus-stop harming MonicaHere is a list of some of the users that are suspending some or all of their activities because of Stack Exchange's recent actions, with links to what they have pledged not to do: Adrian ag415 Aksakal Angew chappo chrylis De Novo GGx Iain Inactive jhpratt Lauren Ipsum Mari-Lou A mbomb007 mdewey...

add me to that list. I even put in for deletion, but after a week, I felt I should stay to keep reminding people

Several on Writing Meta, if you care to sort through it.

This list (or anything like it), does an injustice. It will never be close to comprehensive, so it looks like only a handful of users care.

@fixer1234: You have to start somewhere.

On this question, I think it's better to not start at all. Any such list will understate the numbers (probably by a lot), so it will make it appear like the number is more insignificant than it is.

I was only sporadically active but I'n#m done now. Deleted all my accounts bar SF and this

The sad thing is that on the graphs that matter all the hot air on meta won't even be seen as a blip.

fixer1234 is right though, even if a hundred users are listed, the number is insignificant. SE cares about numbers not curation and attention to detail.

A good number of these users have been active on their primary site in the past 24 hours.

@Mari-Lou, I need your help here, as you have spent considerable time maintaining our primary archive on the current events (and thank you for that), but... please tell them this cannot possibly scale.
@Mari-Lou, thanks, I meant in an answer, and... okay, question's closed, I see what you mean. What's with the close vote epidemic right now?

Added myself. I stopped answering questions on any main site. Bio is where I made my largest contribution in the past. I've continued to participate in meta.

@Mari-LouA aren't SO employees just as disposable? If one of them was fired or suspended activity we might not even notice. For all we know there are employees who have been suspended we haven't heard because, you know, why come to work when you're suspended. ;p (probably just wishful thinking on my part though ;p)

@KevinB your defining activity narrowly. The answer states "some or all"

I mean, by that definition I’ve been “inactive” for 6 years

@Mari-Lou, as I've (roughly) been saying lately -- we remember.

It would be more useful to get the # of users who have incorporated "Reinstate Monica" or some variant thereof in their user name, or modified their profile to show support for Monica. As for suspending activity, the list is clearly not complete, if you include sharply curtailing activity rather than total hibernation.

@ab2, I fully support Monica, yet I did not change my avatar (it is my identity, and I will not wear a mask), my user name (ditto), or my profile. I've been "suspending activity" on SO for nearly three years, and only due to recent incidents have I opened my mouth again on MSE. I'm afraid that would not integrate well in your profiling attempt, and I'm pretty sure there are others like me out there.

@Frederic Hamidi Any method will be imperfect. From the list in one of the answers above, the "suspended activity" criterion is extremely imperfect. (And I am not going to make any attempt to do the counting.)

@FrédéricHamidi Yes, one could argue this question and answer are actively trying to exclude people. Considering the recent CoC changes, I wonder how this will pan out.

Yeah, now imagine some news site (like the Register who already reported on this situation) sees this answer and reports that only 30-odd users (out of millions) suspended activity.

@FrédéricHamidi Again? Another comment of mine deleted. Just out of curiosity what was abusive or rude about them? The fact I suggested that SE professes to care about quality but it is numbers that really count? That the number of users on this site is a tiny fraction compared to the hundred and thousands of users that visit SE daily? Where and why is telling the truth rude? At this point, maybe it is the author of the CW who is flagging? Is it?

I am still active as a user (q&a), but I stop following the review queue and using the 10k moderation tool.

@Mari-Lou, for the record, I do not think your comments were rude or abusive in the slightest. Alas, commenting here has been a risky endeavor lately. Flags may very well be involved, then again there is no proof the questioner themselves is involved, and we should not assume that.

@Randal'Thor get Jon Skeet's name on the list, and we're talking!
@JJforTransparencyandMonica without context, your comment appears incongruous. Two of my comments were deleted by whom, I do not know. Well...not true, it must have been one or more mods but the reason for their deletions escapes me, especially as your upvoted comment was in response to my 2nd comment. Tsk! Meta, meta, mutter... P.S I should have said "millions of visitors" in the previous comment, but I am confident that too will vanish.
