@KevinB if they granted you USD$0.005 (half a cent) per person reached on SO, you'd have USD$32,000.00.
I wonder how much "a person reached" is worth to SE.

it would just sit in the bank
lol

Me too. Well, half 'n half. Bank half, invest half.

that statistic however is wildly inaccurate

@KevinB I've complained about it before. It's hopelessly stupid.
They can't even tell how many views were on a question prior to an answer being posted.
So, you can be credited for thousands of views which occurred before you even read the question in order to provide an answer.

i'm pretty sure... all of my answers were on posts that were "new"

9:28 PM
heh

on SO at least
but because a question received a view... doesn't mean my answer was useful to them

very true
and just because it received a view, that doesn't mean your answer was actually in their browser's viewport at any point when they visited the question.
At the end of the day, someone up top wanted a nebulous feelgood metric they could feature on the new profile layout.

a removal of answer downvote cost with a retroactive recalc would net me a lot of rep

I doubt it mattered how many people protested.
@KevinB jesus, me too.
Admittedly, I've disengaged more and more rather than constantly downvoting everything.

not enough to hit 100k tho
i don't think

9:32 PM
What do you get at 100k? I don't think they dole out swag anymore.

nothing till they start doin swag again
speaking off... i had to retire my so shirt last week... the bottom is unraveling

@KevinB Make a new seam?

that's work

Just a little bit of work though... and the shirt would be a cm or so shorter, don't know if you can live with that ;)

@KevinB I somehow doubt that'll happen. The reputed-elite minority isn't a particular focus for them right now.

9:35 PM
i think i could do it without making it shorter, the fabric itself is fine, the thread at the bottom just came loose so it's ~a cm longer halfway around

@KevinB Ohhh, that's even easier!
Don't get rid of the shirt. Make a new seam, or make it PJ's ;)

They could probably make a killing if they just sold swag.

it's a comfortable shirt

@KevinB Yep! My SE one makes a perfect sleeping shirt :)

Sleep clothing? Perish the thought...

9:38 PM
Hahaha

yeah... i have pj's, but they're not for sleepin in

I'm a bit prudish :P
@KevinB Wait... then what are they for?!

lazy days

Ohh... yeah I have other clothes for that ;)
More like this: lidl-shop.nl/media/5a83fd2464d1c37d3a2e849d0a48fa49.jpeg, not really pj's but very comfy :)
