@LightnessRacesinOrbit Yes, both are important. I just mean it seems to me that the discussion seemed weighted toward "you don't have the right to do that" without much talk about what "that" even was.

I guess the amount of protest should be proportional somewhat to one's disagreement. We could argue anything, as you know. :-)

I would agree that SO would do a lot better to put out a feeler for "hey what do you guys think about..." vs. just trying to announce this kind of thing...you can take the same actions but get people on your side first, or find out if there's going to be a backlash.
