Q: Unexplained deleted answers

RusiContext My answer on philosophy SE was deleted. The specifics about the answer and its issues related to philosophy-SE I will of course raise on philosophy-meta; this question is not about that. Instead it's about SE-wide policy, implementation and suggestions. (As can be verified, I'm active ...

I don't think we should force mods to explain their actions in public. Feel free to take this to the per-site meta or the site chat.

@Shawiz But I'm not asking for public explanation only individually to the poster.
@shawiz added clarification and flag-tag

"more explicit reasons given for answer-removal" - where exactly? Any user with 10k rep can see the deleted answer with the comments, so assuming you mean it to be there, it's considered public.
So your feature request is to force moderators to always reply to flags with full info? While I see your point, it's also not something we should do. If you get no help from the mod team, and chat also doesn't help, you can use the "contact us" form and take it to Stack Exchange staff. It will take lots of time and patience, but afraid that's the only other legit way.

@Shawiz Can those (+10k) users see flags and ensuing chats? This is not about comments. It's about flags marked "helpful" and left unanswered.
@shawiz No not full info. Maybe just a select from a dropdown. At the least don't say "helpful" if mod doesn't act or even answer! Asking too much?

Flags can be seen only by actual site moderators. Chat rooms are public unless created as private room, which only moderator can do. I'm also puzzled about the helpful flag without any comment, but still don't think it justifies a network wide change in policy. Each moderator is given a space to work within, and we shouldn't take it away.

@shawiz In response to "more explicit reasons given foranswer-removal" you ask "Where exactly?" When a question is closed we (everybody) sees why closed, who recommended.

@Rusi right. So still don't understand where you mean?

When an answer deleted we (only answered) sees who deleted. Why cannot a 1 line reason as for closed questions be given.
It would after all only be seen by the answerer
Sorry spell correct! "only answered" = "only answerer"

@Rusi no, anyone who see the deleted answer also see who deleted it, not only the answer author.
(so that's any 10k user.)
Which makes it public info, as in not only between mod and user.

@shawiz An analogy : On github I can clone your report, make changes and submit you a pull-request. You can accept or decline. If you accept I expect my changes to show in your repo. Here on SE I submit a request (flag); it's accepted (helpful) but actually declined. The specific anomaly is for the specific SE. The fact that the SE system allows it is what I am bringing up here

@Rusi it's a bad analogy. Flags are not a way to report bugs, far far from it.
Even meta which is bug reporting platform does not have clear feedback from the dev team.
Compared to all other companies I know it's still much better since no other company got a meta site.

@Shawiz But that's not the analogy! The analogy is for main sites not meta. And the flag is the analogy to a github bug+fix. (That as social media goes SE is better than most I am not denying😇)
