@JourneymanGeek hya... I'm giving it one last try... due to New Year and general feeling of Happiness..... can you please reconsider, and lift @Sonic's suspension, if that's in your power? I'm not doing it for me, but for MSE. Like I said before.... feel free to give him a year chat ban, but please, let him do his stuff on MSE, he's really good at it. Cheers, and Happy New Year! :)

1) there's 2 weeks left. He's exactly in the middle of a 30 day suspension

2) the goal of a suspension is to let a user cool off.

and sonic does need to chill at least a tiny bit

I don't like negative reinforcement, but sometimes its needed, and we don't want folks to get the idea that, well... we're doing this arbitrarily

That said, I'd really like to not have to do it again

@JourneymanGeek two weeks are just that, IMO. More than that really has no added value. There won't be any difference in the "chill effect" (again, in my own opinion) if you lift it today or wait another two weeks, i.e. Sonic at this point as "cooled off" as much as possible.

And lifting suspension is something that happens, and thing done from just being... friendly? Not sure.

Positive reinforcement is simple.

"Hey! don't do that! Thanks!"

From my experience with sonic, I'd think he'd assume someone went "I was right!" over "eh, that was too harsh"

when what we're going for is "If I can't improve on my behavior, and will impose on others, I don't get to do things on meta, so I need to improve"

and our interest is in seeing long term, sustained change in his behaviour

@ShadowWizard quite frankly, unless someone is sitting on a year or a decade, and asks, very nicely and shows signs of improvement... it dosen't happen.

so, that's not happening.

I do see some improvement since so, I'd rather wait it out, and see if we can work with him when he gets back on the community's terms

I have an idea of how he ticks, and this seems to be the best way to get him to realise concequence in his actions
