I agree with Cerbrus, Frédéric, TheLethalCoder, etc. in those comments. It _looks like_ you take every challenge to content as a challenge to you personally.

That was a remark, not criticism

Found a paper the other day summarising 19th century American discourse on the subject. Pretty much every syllable that wasn't already a word was proposed to be used at some point. They really hated "they".

People are basically asking "Why is xir a valid pronoun? I wasn't taught this in school, and if other people can invent pronouns, can I do it as well?"

Anyway, an ELL mod is an advocate(-ish) of singular 'they', and if you wanna find out why it's been around for a while or why it's always been hated by some and loves by others, they're really knowledgeable.

@PM2Ring there is an answer on the FAQ where a non-native speaker asks about "you" and "he"/"she" as to many within certain Hispanic cultures it is considered rude to refer to people like this. If it had been in that vein I would have wondered if it was legitimate - as it was written: I started looking for the bridge

You come in here and ask for people to flag on your behalf. Not cool.

user310756
@KevinB have you seen some of my posts? ?100 comments easily

@Cerbrus that's not what she did

user310756
@Cerbrus just stop! I've asked you to stop

Yes, it is.

nope
there's no weaker signal than "please take a look at this thread"

user310756
10:02 PM
that is my sock account, but Cerbrus will not leave me alone

for all she knows I could've gone in flagging her comments, if there are any

user310756
and I'm asking you again to leave me alone

I'm free to discuss what I want.

I'm free to think it's rude.

I literally come home and this is the first thing I see.

10:02 PM
@Cerbrus legit IMO since single flag won't remove the comment and without mods, it will stay. It's not different than reporting spam that needs to be deleted. Offensive comments should be removed, period.

@Cerbrus no, you're not. There's a point where insisting on a debate when the other side wants to disengage is rude

user310756
@Cerbrus you are not free to harass me under my posts and in chat. When you folllow me around the network. I do not chase you around.

that being said, @Yvette it would help if you actively ignored Cerbrus going forward

user310756
@AndrasDeak yes, totally agree

I do not chase you around. You post controversial content. When I see controversial content, I comment on it.

10:03 PM
@YvetteColomb so do that, and then we can handle Cerbrus if he keeps going. It takes two for a feud.

user310756
@AndrasDeak thanks :)

Not really, you try to silence someone else. That's not cool.

*it takes at least two for a feud

You don't need to "handle" me. I'm not personally attacking anyone.

So, I have been drinking green tea more to help with blood pressure issues.

user310756
10:05 PM
@Shadow huh? I'm not sure what you're referring to

!!/tea Froop

@Shadow brews a cup of green tea for @Froop

user310756
@Froopy nice.

@YvetteColomb to @Cerbrus

That's such a handy little bot! Reminds me of an old program I wrote in net for IRC
Thanks for le tea.

10:06 PM
@Shadow I'm not trying to silence anyone.

Saves me from having to get up.

It's her demanding I stay away from the controversial content she posts.

can we just not go into a meta-debate about the original debate that originally didn't leave anywhere?

Anyone emotionally entangled in this mess should probably disengage for a bit.

this is the opposite of constructive in any way

10:07 PM
@Cerbrus so what is the purpose of this? To me it reads as "don't come here to ask others to flag".
