Q: In the Data Explorer, can you get the change in the number of views for a single question?

RukakuI am trying to find out the monthly change in views for a single question in Data Explorer. I was able to get the current number of views, but could not figure out how to get the past number of views. Is it possible to get the number of past views with Data Explorer? And if so, how can I do it?

@JNat let me see if I can find a reasonably documented example of a cross-site query.

thanks!

I mean, I usually start with one of my recent queries, e.g. this one but without comments it's hard to grasp what's going on.
This one is probably better.
The part starting with -- Site details, cf. https://meta.stackexchange.com/a/359795/295232 is optional, that's just for formatting
There are other ways, e.g. here and linked posts, but this way (1. create temp table with results 2. build up SQL query with lots of unions 3. execute 4. profit!) was the easiest to understand for me.
I already knew about dynamic SQL, and the only thing new for me was the possibility to fully qualify tables, even in other databases. That's something SQL Server specific, other SQL dialects support it in a different way (or not at all).

I'll have a look later today and poke you if I need some further guidance — thanks again! ^_^

Good luck! I'm not here too often, it's mostly rene & Martin.
But feel free to ping me.

Curious if there are things that y'all would generally find useful if SEDE could be improved. It seems like having a built in way to search network-wide might be one of them - are there others?
