A user posted in the other room - but I was busy at the time (and still am) so I did not ask for clarification of the question.
Still, I am posting it here - in case somebody wants to have a look.

FWIW I got it working with some hacker-pokery:https://data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/1537146/link-only-answers-that-suggest-duplicate-questions-split-by-reputation?opt.withExecutionPlan=true
Maybe nothing else is needed there.

From your last message it seems that you solved your problem in the meantime. But at least it is a reminder for the visitors of that room, that also this SEDE-related room exists.

@Martin @rene I only just saw the replies in the other chat, happy to be pinged anywhere/everywhere
I'd have liked it not to use 'top X' as I couldn't get it sorted meaningfully

hmm, doing a like '%text%' on post.body is asking a lot from SQL server. Let's see

@Pureferret I think this one has the same functional meaning but without the top 50,000. It selects the answers from users under 100 rep where the answers contain http, https or stackoverflow, groups those into 3 reputation buckets (<15, [15,50], > 50) and count the number for answers for each bucket.

12:38 PM
@rene I sort of hoped limiting the post length might help? I forget if I put that back in

well. that might be a cheaper operation but still requires a table scan.

@rene right, but you new query still does that right?
Ooooh the scan is after filtering

yep

Is there a way to parameterise the site it's on?

under the run button you can type the name of a site and switch to it

1:05 PM
@rene ahhh I should be clearer. stackoverflow.com is hard coded into the query
Is there a way to parameterise that reference to the site?

@Pureferret You can also put the site into the URL, such as: data.stackexchange.com/math/query/1542100 or data.stackexchange.com/ell/query/1542100
But I guess that's not what you mean. Or is it?

1:35 PM
@Martin I mean I want something like body like '%[SiteUrl]%'
And the query magically replaces [SiteUrl] with stackoverflow.com or scifi.stackexchange.com

1:57 PM
If you needs to obtain working link in the output of the query, then site:// works for that. Such as her: data.stackexchange.com/mathoverflow/query/1449649/…
Oh, I see.
In the query you had where body like '%stackoverflow%'.
Of course, it is possible to enter the site name as a parameter, such as here: data.stackexchange.com/mathoverflow/query/… or data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/…
But you would like to do it in a way which avoids having to put stackoverflow twice in the ULR. (Once as a parameter and once as a site where you're running the query.)
If nothing else, at least I think I understood what you're trying to do.
When people do various network-wide queries, they use things such as sitename or hostname. But I am not familiar with this well enough to be able to help.
You can see an example of a query run over several sites here:

Nope. Don't worry, it is not much work. most of the query comes from my default template I have for that: https://data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/1004129/multi-db-template-with-hostname
I also remember this query - which somebody created to compare posts on two different sites: data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/174675/…
I am not really sure where I saw (the original version) of that query.

@Martin understood exactly 👍🏻

@rene ah but that as to be manually changed when you change site

oh, yes. so you want the hostname also picked automatically if you switch sites

Yes that's the one

ok, let me find Glorfindel's post because that had what I need

@Martin yeah, I was trying to see if I could do with less but it looks I need all the magic
@Martin okay, I think I have it data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/1542100 /cc @Pureferret
here is a test query data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/1542143 if you want to know the rows that are in the CTE alldbs

@rene @Martin that's awesome, thanks
