hi

Been asking a few people this over the last few weeks:
So suppose for a second that SmokeDetector started throwing 4 autoflags on stuff at a sane threshold, but the first autoflag was from a clearly-labelled account.
Digging through the responses on that meta post, and that seems like darn low-hanging fruit.
We should be able to send flags from SmokeDetector. Should help with the discoverability factor, transparency to mods, etc - which seem like a decent chunk of the issues raised in that meta post. You were pretty helpful in that last debate, want to gauge your reaction to that.

hmm
"clearly labelled account"
We'd still never see it
So.. here's the big issue with smokey as far as visibility goes.
She's too darned efficient.

Yep, that's another problem. This is focused on "looking at the timeline, knowing what happened"

We'll literally never see it, unless we're looking at SD feeds
ah
then yes

The next part is what you're talking about. We've been trying to get RSS feeds working in chat for autoflagged stuff, but... chat RSS is finicky.

2:49 AM
hah, quite a bit is
If nothing else, it helps with auditability if we need to go back and look at a post
(and there is NEVER anything wrong with being able to tell why something was flagged(

Aye. That's the theory.

Anyway, thanks! :) Trying to stage this out, going straight 3 to 5 is too aggressive.

I'd actually consider that a very positive step.
takes 6 to nuke, right?

aye
My current plan is to go to 4 with one from Smokey, then 5 once we get RSS or something of the sort working.

2:52 AM
just me would be happy with plain RSS feeds
I can shove it on my ttrss instance (or even one on my other server)
