There are some exceptions from (2), sure.

Too broad is the new minimal understanding. If it's a requirement dump, sure, close it, but no effort should yield downvotes, not closing...

If people downvoted more, a lot more questions with close votes would be automatically roomba'd.

Also, it's actually really hard to get a question reopened. From my circumstantial evidence, very few questions are reopened from the queue.

the folks who you'd wish were terrified to ask are so unafraid that they'll cheerfully flood the site with questions in the face of abuse. The folks who (with a tiny bit of assistance maybe) could ask interesting/useful questions are often so petrified of being criticized that they never even try.

It seems that editing Wikipedia articles is sometimes used as a part of coursework. See Wikipedia:Student assignments. There was also a related discussion on academia.SE What are the pros and cons of giving students assignments to write Wikipedia articles?

Does anybody know whether there were similar discussions about usage Stack Exchange in a similar way. I.e., that some activities of students as users of SE site could contribute to their grade in a course?

I am asking in connection with this discussion on a per-site meta: Would it be allowed to post a question as an exercise for students?. It would be useful for that discussion to know whether something similar was discussed elsewhere on the SE network. (I did not find anything on meta.SE.)

I should have searched better: Stack Overflow as a class assignment?

But if you are aware of some other related discussions, I will be glad if you let me know.

Probably one of your answer got deleted due to question removal, but that's only a guess since we don't see rep lose on your account, and can't see deleted posts on there.

I have checked that reputation loss both if a user was removed or if an answer was deleted is shown on my profile. I am not sure whether this is different for users below 10k (i.e., not able to see deleted posts.)

@MithleshUpadhyay On your reputation tab (in the lower part of the page) there is an option "show removed post". Is that field ticked in your profile?

Make sure you tick the "show removed posts" checkbox in your reputation tab and also check the "recent deleted answers" and "recent deleted questions". — Shadow Wizard May 15 at 6:10

Yes, Post "Is there something special about 2016 ?" was removed yesterday, and points reduced 41, but on that post there were no upvotes, in fact -1 down vote.

So, why reduced rep?

@MithleshUpadhyay On the post you mention -1 is the total score, which is result of 16 upvotes and 17 downvotes.

So that post contributed 16*5-17*2=46 reputation points

@MithleshUpadhyay I might be mistaken, but I still think that if you tick "show removed posts" on your reputation tab, change of this type should be shown there.

@Martin, my mistake, after tick on "show removed posts" all redu/incr rep are showing.
