@Telkitty funny enough, I've yet to encounter a raccoon here in Colorado.

I assume they're around, but I haven't run into them in the way one normally would (finding them going through your trash or eating corn out of your garden)
Fortunately, we have bears here to go through our trash, and deer to eat our corn. So we make due.

That's very fortunate.

user202362
@Shog9 Oo :(

user202362
Thought raccoons are pests in the North America - meaning people perceive that there are too many of them in the area

@Telkitty well, they're immigrants everywhere else. And the natives always love immigrants.
Big problem with raccoons isn't so much that there are too many (although there certainly can be in places); it's that they can be rather clever.
One house, we put our trash in a shed after they kept getting into it on the street; they just unlatched the door and had at it anyway.
So we padlocked the door; they dug under it.
Finally we blocked off that route as well, but they'd still be out there trying to get in every week.
I only lived there for about a year, so... they might've figured it out eventually.
Probably didn't help that the shed also housed rather a lot of honey extraction equipment; I suspect the smell would've been very enticing even without the trash.

2:35 AM
This is why I live away from raccoons. How do you maintain your sanity?
I suppose that's rhetorical since you don't, but still…

I love pest birds/mammals ... 'Pest' status usually means that they are clever and/or aggressive

or numerous
gnats, for example, are neither particularly clever nor aggressive, but can become pests due to their multitudes
Fortunately, sticky traps.

user202362
Did mention birds or mammals

Same with dogs
Unfortunately, they don't make dog-sized sticky traps

BTW what's this PPCG (?) convention of you guys that change into button names @Vote? I mean, is there a history behind "downgoat", "vote to close" etc.?

Umm, I'm called VoteToClose because my initial name when I signed up was VTCAKAVSMoACE (long story), and they only remembered the first three, so I adopted it. Downgoat chose the name because of DigitalTrauma's image, plus another user (actually over here) called Downgoat.
