Well, Tamil Nadu is a place.
Specifically a "state" in "India".

user259867
Good so far. I visited it once, though not Coimbatore.

12:35 AM
I imagine "most very" is some sort of ecstatic superlative characteristic of the subcontinent.
And they posted it using their cell phone, hence Mobil. :)
And it is supposed to mean that they don't have enough rep to use the commenting feature nor enough sense not to mutter random non-answers.

What'd'y'all think of the 5k iMac? Should I buy it for my mostly everyday things?

@NormalHuman Seems kowtowish.
Or lavish.
@NormalHuman Not in ngrams.

@bjb568 no.....

Why not?

12:44 AM
Because it sounds bad.

It sounds good.

You've crossed the threads in your delirium.

Because... it's probably $2k that you could spend in ... shall we say, a much better manner?

That’s only of use to those who were not to the manner born.

@hichris123 more like $4k, but I want 4k+ resolution

12:46 AM
But yeah, I could come up with plenty of other things to spend two hundred thousand pennies on.
Eek.

So should I get a larger 4k monitor? Or even a 50" TV? That would probably be paired with a Mac Pro.

@tchrist I've never heard that idiom before.
@bjb568 ... you don't really need any of those........

Yeah I do

HORATIO  Is it a custom?
HAMLET    Ay, marry, is't:
                But to my mind, though I am native here
                And to the manner born, it is a custom
                More honour'd in the breach than the observance.
Silly tabseses.

I haven't read Hamlet yet... :P
Only Caesar & Midsummer Night's Dream.

William Shakespeare's play Hamlet has contributed many phrases to common English, from the famous "To be, or not to be" to a few less known, but still in everyday English. Also, some occur elsewhere, such as the Bible, or are proverbial. A few, listed out (Note: all are second quarto except as noted): Act I, scene 1: As the mote is to trouble the mind's eye ("Mind's eye," though it did not originate as a phrase in this play, was popularized by Shakespeare's use of it.) Act I, scene 2: ... all that lives must die, Passing through nature to eternity. Frailty, thy name is woman! Act I, scene 3: ...

I just read The Color of Water and Catcher in the Rye for English.
That's my reading allocation for the year.

Your year has but two days in it?

yeah yeah "has but"

@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M (disclaimer: I'm not Sha. :P) You need to have some SQL knowledge, and SEDE has this help page: data.stackexchange.com/help

T-SQL is it.

Looking at existing queries probably helps too, sometimes you might find a few things close to what you need as a starting point.

Learning by seeing a sample is what I do at the TeX world everyday.

Pity you can't edit / comment on SEDE queries, there's a few useful ones I've found with small errors that you can fork to fix but then unless I'm missing something the old one would still be the most popular / bookmarked and not many are likely to use the new one

But then you'd need a mod.

1:53 PM
@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M Flag it

I guess, although for comments like "I fixed problem x, new version here..." I suppose flags would be enough. Agree editing would be a problem on second thoughts.

@rene That isn't quite what she said, and I know you were kidding, but it might be for the best anyway. Getting edited for style not eroors can be a hot button for some people, and who can blame them, really? It's one thing to be communally edited as need be, but quite another to efface the voice of the author, however idiosyncratic. Homogenizing everyone to sound the same would be boring.

On the main sites I think a maor strict regime is warranted but on meta we should be able to relax a bit, specially if you're editing regulars.
