9:05 PM
nite

Someone else post a message.

user259867
Here? Okay. Sundays are fun because I run out of close and downvotes the fastest.

@CareBear Why do you run out of close & downvotes faster on Sundays?

user259867
Because much math homework is due Monday, and is being frantically dumped on Math.SE on Sunday nights.

okay, post another message

user259867
9:15 PM
Math gets more questions per day than Super User, Server Fault, Ask Ubuntu and Unix & Linux ... combined.

Okay. Me looks at why chrome bug might be happening... sigh
@CareBear Are you using Chrome? When I post a message, do you notice the bottom of your browser window "jump" a little?

user259867
I am using Chrome, but the window is full-size, so I don't see it jumping.

user259867
Resized now, go ahead and post.

It's full size for me too.

user259867
Okay, then I don't know what "bottom of window" means. In any case, I see nothing unusual. Chrome 38 / Win7

9:18 PM
Hold on, lemme get a screen capture thingy up.

user259867
BTW You could test it in a room with more messages coming in, C++ or something...

user259867
(would not take as long to wait for a message)

eh, true.
Post a message when you're ready.

no repro @hichris123

9:20 PM
IE11 works and chrome does the same

ok, one more message.

are you sure it isn't a plugin?

No, it's not.

Now we are curious

How do you upload a video?

9:22 PM
uhuh? youtube?

Have to encode it first though, but...
@rene nah, something else.

@hichris123 if you encode it I guess you can drop it in pastebin?

okay, video encoding hated me, so I'm just using pictures.
See the little white line at the bottom?
It's a bit bigger of a difference, lemme get a better frame.

Yosemite + Macbook Air: Face the sun so that it shines on the backside of the screen part, press ⌥⌘⏻ (option-command-power) – looks kewl

@hichris123 Are we discussing a rendering glitch of your video driver?

9:31 PM
@rene Doubtful -- it hasn't done anything like this until now, and I haven't updated drivers in the past... year maybe?
I'm betting it's Chrome's fault. I'm running dev (40).

garage clean

@Undo !!/pull

@Undo good job

Where's @ProgramFOX?

Asleep maybe?

9:32 PM
... sleeping. :(
Okay, we'll pull anyway >:D

It is late here...

here goes

@hichris123 I'm on 38

@rene Ah.

@hichris123 so that could indeed explain what you see and I don't see...

:(

I got the other one!
!!/rev?
@SmokeDetector false

@Undo Registered as false positive, but could not add the title to the Bayesian doctype 'good'.

Yay!
Now we wait for a real fp
!!/rev?

9:42 PM
... what? :P
Sorry @Undo, but I'm no Smokey. :P

:P

@SmokeDetector true

@hichris123 Something went wrong when registering title as true positive.

I think the learning bayesian part isn't working.

Not sure why

9:44 PM
gtg, I'm out, good night

Is there any way to break the complicated server.js into smaller modules?

This is insane.

Q: Stack (Overflow|Answers)

AstroCBSo, I've found I particularly egregious SCRAPER called Stack Answers (I'd provide a link to their main page, but I don't want to give them any more visits than I already have). Here's the site description: [Stack Answers] is a site for Questions & Answers for professional and enthusiast prog...

The best part is the URLs.
Take any Stack Overflow question's URL and put "answers" in the place of "overflow."

@AstroCB could you post a message plz?

@hichris123 A message of?

@AstroCB just anything. One more, please.

HALLO
Can I halp too?

10:15 PM
Wow, two close votes already. That was quick.

@bjb568 yeah, just say Hi... now.

Hi... now.

ok, thanks.

Wow; they scrape fast.
Nearly instantaneous.
Go to the realtime page, click on any question (even the newest) and change "overflow" in the URL to "answers."

vwow
(for lack of triple-u character)

10:20 PM
27 seconds is the record (it's probably faster, but I couldn't find a question asked more recently than that).

10:35 PM
Who downvotes a question reporting a Stack Exchange plagiarist? I think that sometimes people just like playing with the buttons.

Oooo I earned Citizen Patrol on MSO.

@animuson For what post was it useful for a moderator to flag rather than perform the action directly?

@animuson Deleted.

Well, of course it's deleted. I flagged it as offensive. :P

10:42 PM
I see.

I had this insane idea that offensive-nuked posts on Meta still triggered the -100 penalty on the main site. Apparently I was wrong.

user259867
@animuson Status-declined.

Q: Offensive/Spam flags on meta should affect reputation on main

ManishearthI just dive-bombed an answer on meta.physics.SE (I moderate Physics.SE, so the flag is binding) with an offensive flag. When this is done on the main site, the user loses 100 rep. (see http://meta.stackexchange.com/a/22175/178438) Shouldn't meta-offensive-flagging have a penalty attached as well...

Heh, another one of Lance's highly upvoted and completely useless "I agree" answers.

@animuson Bounty, too.

10:54 PM
I need to answer more [bug] questions so I can get that last gold tag badge.

@animuson What was the answer?

user259867
Finally, a volunteer to moderate Bitcoin. One acquired, four to go.

user259867
@hichris123 The answer to the question oneboxed above, I suppose.

@CareBear I was talking about the one he flagged as offensive.

@animuson +1 great answer! :P

^ I thought that was pretty funny.
Because I've totally never read that page before.

Never. Mods don't need the help center.

Ever
Mods are more helpful than the help center, unless they don't feel like being so

ento is the most active tester of SO in Japanese... and the profile says "working on becoming fluent in Lojban". So I suppose "SO in Lojban" is not too far out in the future...

SO in Japanese? That's a thing?
WHOA IT IS
I'm so behind the times :P

user259867
@Undo ja.stackoverflow.com or jp.stackoverflow.com -- two URLs.

But it doesn't show up on area51.stackexchange.com/?tab=beta

user259867
Yes, there was never a proposal for it (AFAIK). A top-down initiative of SE team.

so how do I get in?

user259867
11:42 PM
If you have Android app, look at "All sites" and scroll to the bottom.

ah, heh
still, one would think there would be an announcement or something

user259867
It's accessible through the API that the app uses, not through the web.

user259867
When you see what's posted there.... not ready for prime time.

yeah
that's strange

user259867
There was a kind of announcement by Jaydles who said it's "in progress".

never understood the "colored bar under the logo" thing

user259867
Flag of Japan.

Looks weird.

11:51 PM

user259867
The logo does not have the red bar. Maybe designers can't decide if they like it.

Well, I DON'T

Yeah the green thing on the Portuguese one just made me keep thinking the logo was on a patch of grass.

user259867
I presume SE team know what they are doing, starting a site with no Area51-committed users... not clear how it's supposed to get off the ground.

^ Is there a better place to put the ask button?

11:57 PM
which one?

On the right.
It's an <a> under a <small> under an <h1> in the content div.

I guess I could make submenu items like with the Create section...
