"I don't want to sniff my own packets" brought this to mind...

@Louis TOTALLY RELEVANT!

The phrase is (with minor changes) from the question that hichris123 linked to. As for the dog, well, I never claimed my mind makes relevant associations between ideas.

Is it just me or is close voting broken on meta.SE?

@Mysticial downvoting seems to work just fine
but flagging seems to hang

I'm unable to flag the spam that just got posted.
Yeah, both closing and flagging seems to hang.

@rene Yeah we know. But flagging and closing both seem to hang.

@rene is it the one that Mystical is talking about?
should I downvote in the meantime?

7:04 AM
I just downvoted it, that worked fine, but flagging is still animating three dots, before FlagQuestion button.

@JanDvorak missed that...

Oy.
What's the best thing to do when you discover that a useful answer with lots of upvotes was copied from multiple sources? Flag? Ignore?

@AmalMurali comment?

@JanDvorak saying what?

> Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'closeSubmitting' of undefined
JS error.
No request is ever sent to the server when trying to flag or close.

7:07 AM
this means that we can fix this with a userscript... right?

@JanDvorak probably

lol, my flag message exceeds the limit by 600 characters :-P

The mods probably can't do anything either. You might need a dev to push a change.

@Mysticial true.

worse, flagging is broken on ELU as well

7:15 AM
Time to ping a dev?

@rene I'm pretty sure they know about it already.
@Oded just in case, see above fuss. :)
@Anna ^

@JanDvorak same for SO

Closing via the close review still works though.
Probably different code, how lucky! ;)

Q: Closing animation never ends

nalplyI just tried to close a question as unclear, however I was not able to. The three animated dots to the left of the button never stop animating. I tried it several times. Perhaps a transient problem, but I would like call attention to it by asking on meta.

should it be migrated to meta.stackexchange?

7:22 AM
@DroidDev nah, no harm having it in both places

Better leave it

my mail account is close so how to open stackoverflow account ? any idea ??

@Darshan eh? What mail account? what happens if you try to login? How you can post here if you're not logged in?

@Darshan You can no longer access the mail account you use to log in to Stack Overflow?

?

@Darshan You should use the contact form for that...

any link for contact form ? please give me

still can't flag on ELU...

Look at the revision number in the footer, @Jan.

7:29 AM
@MartijnPieters today.1607

Currently, SO is at 2014.5.15.1607, MSE is 2014.5.15.2247
when that number changes you have the new version.

@Darshan searching for lost account gives some hits, this one for example: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/156747/…

MSO is 2247 as well.

so, 1607 is the broken one? What is the ETA for a new version?

Minutes; if Tim says the new version is being pushed.

7:31 AM
ping me then, please

edit on that spam is pretty good, there should be a script running on SE which should apply this edit to all the posts, which are marked as spam by two or more users

No, it shouldn't
The spam content is needed for the filter
only flag that crap
don't leave comments

@Jan: New Meta release is 2250

@ErikKowal the fix is already being deployed. What are you going to do when flagging works again? — Jan Dvorak 43 secs ago
Bet he didn't see that coming :-P

@rene true but in those very rare cases I think it's better edit the spam away until flagging is fixed the rolling back before flagging.
Oh, too late now I see. :(

7:37 AM
@ErikKowal moreover, you really don't want spammers to know when flagging breaks — Jan Dvorak 10 secs ago

@ShadowWizard I agree with that...
SO is working now

@Jan: 1608 is out.

7:56 AM
All back to normal.

@ShadowWizard Judging by the spam coming in you're correct...

A: Using the "flag" loophole to pass every review audit

m0saThis was a major annoyance as far as I'm concerned. The close and flag dialogues have finally made their review audit debut in build rev 2014.5.15.2250 on meta and 2014.5.15.1608 on sites. Await some robo-reviewer lash back.

This was what caused the bug

Is it possible to remove all my contributions on Stack Overflow?

@needaname no

Or should I file a complaint?
Ok

@needaname As in "delete your account"? Yes. "Delete your posts"? No.

8:23 AM
There are info of personal domain in there.
Who's the head of the entire Stack Exchange organization?
I nearly finished a Discussion Platform software and want to move my content there.

You could run a SEDE query to get your content and the delete your account.
That will leave the posts but they are no longer associated with an account

@rene Can a compromise be to change personal info with generic one?

That is up to you. You can edit your profile, edit your posts to remove personal stuff without defacing the post.

Yay

Ok. Also removed an edit I made showing the solution.

user3616399I am a beginner in Qt, very much interesting it is, i want to do a 3D application, can anyone guide me a Good understanding 3D application code? I tried some but unable to get them.

It is way too broad question anyway, or even primarily opinion based, or even unclear.

@LaszloPapp I've voted to close that question you mentioned as too broad. The mods have been clear that we should vote to close as duplicate on the basis of question similarity.

@rene there was some way to know if review is an audit by checking something in the close/flag dialogs so it is now fixed, i.e. one can't insta-detect an audit based on whatever it was. :)

Isn't it still possible to detect if it's an audit by looking at the data on the page? I think there's an isAudit field or something like that.

@needaname this would be Joel Spolsky, the only remaining CEO according to this page. But I don't think it's wise to contact him personally just to remove something from your posts.

@JanDvorak sad part is the spammer read the whole About page in other site.

is this question really on topic? stackoverflow.com/q/2588943/792066

@Braiam I only glanced at it but it doesn't look like there's any programming involved. Looks like a pure maths question.

I'm certainly not gonna read it all

@Stijn looks like it was good and on topic back in the old days thoguh.
I don't think there's much point closing it now.

12:27 PM
There's also this: > Note: I understand that this is mostly a math question and not programming, however it is going to be implemented in code and it must be optimized to run very fast and efficient.
Edge case I guess

1:25 PM
someone is again back.

What's his problem?

Inability to read or use common sense seems to be the problem.

He hasn't done anything but make a few suggested edits. No questions, no answers. Double account?
Is there an existing Meta question on why the "recomment deletion" reasons in the low quality review queue, are not available when simply encountering such an answer outside of the queue?

1:44 PM
Yeah, I've thought so myself. Bring unsubstantiated accusations from a throwaway account to dodge the inevitable backlash.
No idea re meta question.

Re: edit review audits - if something is clearly an audit, does the reject reason make a difference? I usually just pick "vandalism", but does it really matter?

Not really no. As long as you don't fail the audit.

I see more and more questions closed by one user.

I am not sure about it being a good idea
I would still say 2-3 people would be better than only one, potentially risking ping-pong game.

they got 1 vote per Q and community can overrule them, so it's alright

Yeah, it's been discussed in multiple posts on Meta.SO and Meta.SE.

3:59 PM
that is not a complete idea IMHO
e.g. the qt tag has no gold badges
still a significant tag though with about 30K questions

So why are you still here @LaszloPapp? Get to work!!

^ that

How can we call you a Guru if you don't have a golden badge yet?

lemme rant in the thread right there...
well, a guru is over a diamond badge anyway?!

guru is significantly more easier than the tag badge... is 1000 upvotes and 200 posts!

/me grabs popcorn and watches in anticipation to see Laszlo rant

what we will see C++ "gurus" coming to the qt badge knowing nothing about it and closing.
:-(
and the actual qt gurus will not have even the same power.

Hey, as long as we close everything, we won't have a quality problem.

@LaszloPapp just remove the tag of Qt questions that doesn't have anything to do with C++ and problem solved ;)

But let's just see how this thing works out. If nothing bad happens, great. If it turns out to be too drastic or often abused, it can still be dialled down a notch.

4:05 PM
and if it's awesomesauce?

Then we'll close every question visited by a user with a golden badge.

/me is becoming a golden badge whore
/me is writing a script for creating puppets.

@Braiam The insta-close-vote is based on the initial tags on the question, as I recall.

@Louis ?

Wait, you can script that @LaszloPapp? And here I've been kidnapping children and attached them to my rig of strings ...

4:12 PM
@Braiam Maybe I just did not understand what you were saying there with "just remove the tag of Qt questions that doesn't have anything to do with C++ and problem solved". This will affect visibility but not the insta-close-vote power.

@Louis but will affect those users that gets the Qt badges for C++ questions ;)

Er... well then I guess I just did not follow where you were going with this. Carry on, then.

let us see how far I am ...

@LaszloPapp 241 more upvotes to get the QT tag badge

I have this user that notoriously seems to ignore the advice given. Can we cast some CV here: stackoverflow.com/questions/23671736/…

4:23 PM
@mikeTheLiar Not everything... just @Bart's accepted/up-voted posts.

I need only 250 upvotes for solidarity? :P

@Bart real strings, or just wchar_t[]?

perhaps I could cheat by going through the upvoted posts and if the qt tag is not added to the question yet, then add it? :P

that is fine anyway.

Q: What happens when your answer is unaccepted but it is the answer for the OP?

lnanikianRegarding my question, I am not familiar with the process of unaccept an answer. So I want to know if after the OP reads the answer and find that it solves his problems but and accept it. But the -15 remains. So the person who is the initiator of the unaccept will remove it or will be notified?
