@Bart The blog post is this one and the first link (one key bit of advice) should lead to this link instead.

Yeah I'll create a PR in that case :)

hello, I have identified the following goals of Q&A websites such as SE:
1. Provide access to (contributing) correct information.
2. Provide the ability to learn as well as teach.
3. Reward users for doing all of this correctly.
Am I somewhat correct about this? Am I missing something?

11:13 AM
@AppAraat Sounds pretty right to me especially point 1 about building a library of quality Q/A that can be accessed by others having similar questions / problems

@PeterJ: Do you think this should apply to all resources on the Internet?
(well, more like content)

@AppAraat Well I don't know about all resources, there's a place for general discussion and entertainment sites. Lots of sites don't allow any feedback and others (like Facebook) only allow 'likes' not 'dislikes'. Why do you ask doing some sort of assignment?

@PeterJ: I'm trying to think of ways of making the web less about empty entertainment and more about accurate knowledge exchange.

@AppAraat I think the Stack Exchange model works pretty well for that and Wikipedia seems to work pretty well too. Not that either are perfect but I think the general idea of putting information in front of a lot of people and allowing edits, comments and in the case of SE posting alternative answers along with voting works pretty well.
