And we took a tour of an Amish farm, and ate in someone's home with no power, etc. Tourist-y stuff but was awesome. Great food! And the B&B we stayed in was owned by Mennonites - very nice people.
I wish we had had a huge truck to bring home Amish furniture.
@Sue Yeah. also teams of mules instead of tractors - much more peaceful for the neighbors. I've actually seen a huge John Deere hopelessly stuck in mud, easily pulled out by a team of 6 huge mules.
@LynnCrumbling We wandered all around. Then we got in a car accident, had to leave the car there and go back, so we visited twice! Praise God, no injuries in that accident.
This one guy trained his mule team to run home, so when he was making hay, and the 2 or 3 hay wagons were full, he'd hitch them all into a train, and the mules could take it down the road to the home farm unmanned. Illegal, but funny
I just clicked on that link about Marquee and it crashed my whole browser! Funny cuz this is Firefox on our decent computer, rather than Safari on my Ipad which is what I usually use.
@Frank D has relatives in Shreveport. They live on an army base, but apparently it's not a really nice area. I guess it's a good thing gas is low, since the people around there can't afford much.
@Sue The average income here is quite high, and even the less wealthy can afford things like landscaping/lawn care services. Good for me, but the competition is pretty steep. Especially against the tycoons.
@Frank I like watching the smoke detector stuff! I'm glad people can afford to pay you, but the whole tycoon thing is annoying. Like Walmart (though I do shop there!).
I don't like watching individuals put out of business. Happens a lot around here.
@LynnCrumbling Definitely get that. They can be very dangerous. One hit us once but we were fine. It went off into the woods but I cried for days worrying that it was injured.
ok, the query says there is only one comment on GL containing 'raccoon':
I use the same trap, and I caught a thirty pound raccoon that was eating my corn. Be careful to bait it with something they like better than corn. — J. MusserDec 25 '11 at 2:26
I downvoted this question because it told me I had to, to get the next badge ("Critic"). This might not be how you want this to work. But I don't care, I got a shiny! Hey, why didn't I get a shiny? I did my "first downvote" just like it said! I'll try downvoting some comments and answers, too... — Dewi Morgan6 mins ago
Is there extra space at the top of each answer on SO? Look at this for example: the distance between horizontal line and the beginning of post is larger for answer than for question.
@FamousBlueRaincoat the question has a tab, but my eyes are to robust to even notice this ;)

@bummi It's the same on every question. Answers have 20px vertical padding, which questions do not have. Could be by design, but it looks unfamiliar to me, and I can't unsee it.
We have a cat who throws up almost every day. We call her "eat and puke" cuz that's what she does! She's been doing it for 12 years, so it's not an illness, just annoying! Sounds gross and is usually on the bed or furniture! With that, I leave you. Good night one and all!
@Frank I know! My vet says one of hers does it too. Forgot to tell you the others like to eat it! Grossed you out enough yet! Now I really have to go. Thanks for the company and the flagging fun! :)
