@Quill as you may see, you can get curves for many other topic, from actors, animals and such. In some cases, searching for the curve may get a bit difficult because wolfram will try to give alternate meanings to your question.
Searching for "Eyeglasses shaped curve" will just redirect you to a page explaining what eyeglasses are, and searching for "@Bart shaped curve" will just return a curve shaped like the Simpson character instead.

I've got curves. That's all you'll ever need.

@Bart You have diopter. That is different. Judging by the avatar, that should at least be 5D.

12:02 PM
Negative perhaps

12:30 PM
A positive diopter lens is convex and will magnify an object.
Since @bart is known to magnify any form of drama in the Tavern, and must also be pretty fat since he seems to live its days here, watching at Smokey reports... I stand my original thesis. :P

A positive diopter lens could also be convex-concave, or even Fresnel

Convex-concave is great for glasses, because then they don't press against your eyeballs
@Derpy My technical note was about diction, not grammar.

@JanDvorak Why you had to ruin my jokes, you heartless howl-man. ;_;

You can still follow-up with another XKCD comic ;-)

12:39 PM
@Derpy flagging that as offensive ... true ... but offensive

Let's not joke about flags, shall we?

Awwww, why not?

It's all fun and games until somebody actually does what they say they're doing, and then the relationships are soured for ever.

I once flagged someone by accident, without me even realizing it. And we survived that. We'll be okay. :)

@Bart Sure, buy only if you can prove that it was the glasses that did the flag and not the person behind the computer since I offended its lens by implying that they where fat :P

12:43 PM
There is no person behind the computer. Don't look behind the computer!

Just be careful to not do it in a room in which its occupants can actually see the flags cast.
But... I get your point.

And as always

@Rubisco I don't really understand you. I've only seen a lot times, that a new user is coming and asks a perfectly good question. And then, his question will be simply closed by a cloudy reason. And then, the user tries to save it. He doesn't know, that on most sites, the proportion of the successful reopen tries are below 5%. He only tries to accustome the community standards. And he tries it, he works on his question, and then... "leave closed", "leave closed", "leave closed".
@Rubisco I've seen that many times, and I think, it is only because the volunteer, decision making users of the sites aren't really interested in a large and well-going site. But the SE, being a profit-oriented company in the U.S., yes it is.
@Rubisco Being a simple user not trying to get diamonds and similar things, only wanting to enjoy the sites, actually my wishes and the probable wishes of the SE Inc are quite similar. This is why I've tried to understand, what the CMs are doing and why.
@Rubisco Maybe they know something, what I don't, and they are even capable and willing to say it to me. Or not. There is no reason to not try to ask them.
@Rubisco As I can see, your main site is the Chemistry SE, I've found this site a quite friendly one, thus this problem I've described is probably not enough well known for you.

@AaronHall You do realize that the OP gets notified when you post a new answer comments like this are pretty noisy

@AaronHall who is Hill?

Hey bluefeet

oh, Hillary. lol

@bluefeet You do realize that the accepted answerer posted "@Sklavit Agreed. I would be happy if Aaron Hall's post would be the accepted answer." back in July.

@AaronHall and? It's up to the OP to change it, pestering them with multiple comments about your answer is noise

Only he posted it on his own answer, so I was actually never sure that OP ever saw it.
@bluefeet I'm asking for feedback on content that I have spent hours curating and improving.

4:47 PM
@AaronHall which the OP saw when you posted the answer.

actually, he only gets pinged on the first draft, if I'm right about the site mechanics.

Your comment I included above was your 4th to the OP to review your answer. That's way noisy
Down right pestering

Ah, well I have no way of keeping count of deleted comments. I have over 30 counted edits to my answer, so that's seems rather low proportionally.
I'll be happy to apologize to OP for bugging him if you like.

Your best bet is to write a great answer for everyone not just the OP. Pinging the OP multiple times is pointless, focus on your answer. If the OP changes it on their own, great. If not, just know you wrote a great answer.

That's great advice. Do you know what causes me to focus on the page itself? The little green +10 I get every time someone decides to read past the glib 7 year old unsophisticated cut-and-paste on a topic that I have spent hours studying and examining from different angles trying to determine the absolute best advice I can on the subject. One might even say, with 30 edits to 4 comments, that I have for the most part followed your advice.
Maybe there should be a way to turn off the little green notifications. I'd probably focus on more new content if that were the case.
Of course, I could just log out, right?

5:23 PM
@peterh Oh man, I got 9 pings. I thought I became important somewhere.
Thanks, I guess.
Still, what you say is usually localized.
I can't, shouldn't, and wouldn't say on how many sites and to what extent, and these things are typically highly prone to perspective-related things.
But since it's not global, @peter, you shouldn't make it sound like it is.
@AaronHall Us bikers are usually that awesome.

@Rubisco I think an interaction and a possible, harmful conflict of interest between the CMs and the core teams can have a global importance. My second thought about this is that a possible compromise could be, if the power users say, they hold the site clean, in exchange the CMs allow them to torture the newbies. But, I think, such a deal can't be mutually fruitful from the point that it negates the growth of a site.
