(I've been taught in a machine learning/pattern recognition course that they're essentially black boxes. They can often recognize patterns very well but the behavior of the individual neurons don't give any clues.)

The significant drop does correspond with NAA going into /review...

...because I'm counting flags in that chart, not posts that were flagged. And NAA going into /review corresponded with the removal of the 10K flag queue.

And now you know why that damn queue was so useless.

yeah - also shows a marked decrease in VLQ flagged posts

Which makes sense given the changes to both their handling in review and their lack of convenience as a way to "handle" flags elsewhere.

(Note the massive spike in disputed VLQ flags following this change)
