Q: What is [something] in c#?

Bit HunterWas wondering what [something] public class c1 { } is called in c#?

@PopularDemand how does php handle multiple main functions?

No no, it should be "What is the crappy notation C# uses to implement the decorator pattern called."
That way people who have no idea what they're looking for still can't find it.

@mootinator Oh, square brackets, square brackets, wherefore art thou square brackets?

@badp Because the language specification doth say so.

@mootinator Oh, verily, but where doth it say that?

@Popular nice edit.

@mootinator Oh, but my square brackets art in a different castle. Verily dost they hath words in them!

@badp I think you've nailed down the correct question.

Q: What is the thing I'm trying to do called?

tladukeI think there must be a name for whatever it is I'm trying to do. I want to have a list of... requests and what the responses should look like. But the different requests and responses are not formatted the same. They are simple strings, so here's some examples: request => response foo%% =>...

9:15 PM
@mootinator I can't imagine this one would have made it through the quality filter today.

@jadarnel27 I like the edit.

Oh that GEOCHET.

It's kinda amazing.

Hey everyone ... In the new reputation tab, why does "deleted" answers show as +1?

@mootinator Re-edited. And I wonder why GEOCHET hasn't shown up here lately... his suspension was lifted days ago.

9:22 PM
@PopularDemand Why was he suspended?

Dunno.

@Martin If an answer you downvoted was deleted, you would get +1 back

@jadarnel27 No, someone deleted an answer and got a point for it

@Martin Oh. Uh... stalls for time ...um...links or it didn't happen?

@jadarnel27 2 days ago, Robert Harvey
I've found 3 bugs (potential) so far

9:27 PM
@Martin That's still the only thing that comes to my mind. Robert had downvoted an answer on that question, and when it was deleted he got the 1 rep back.

@jadarnel27 it would be shown publicly, which is unacceptable. Downvotes should be private
@jadarnel27 Why is Nick's reputation undetailed on 22nd?

@Martin Right, I thought I saw a bug post about that on the featured question, but it must have been deleted.

The 22nd? What do you mean undetailed?

Yeah, I don't follow either.

@animuson you can't click the arrow to get vote listing and vote times, which is normally available

9:36 PM
It's all working for me...

Take a look, prntscr.com/6jbn3

Oh neat, I've voted 300 times :o random badges yay
Wow, that's really weird
It only spawns the expand arrows for the first day that you open...

@animuson exactly.
@animuson I'll take this message if I can to a question

@PopularDemand all rep is worthless, man.

Hmmm, if you hit the reputation cap for the day, but spent 100 reputation on bounty, so your "overall reputation gain" for the day is less than 200 (215 - 100 = 115), does that day still count as a "hit 200 reputation" day?

9:49 PM
@Martin what Operating system r u using?

@amanaPlanaCAnalPAnaMA W7
@animuson no. If you're talking about the text in /reputation page, it's only by upvotes

then why dont u use the native snipping tool?

@amanaPlanaCAnalPAnaMA because ... I didn't even think about it

@Martin lol oy...
w00t random 3rd party applications :-P

@animuson mm, maybe protection against overhead?

Q: Potential bugs I've found so far on the new reputation tab

MartinI think I've found about three bugs so far in the new reputation page. First: Go to the Robert's reputation tab and look on 25th February. You'll see he received one point for a deleted post. There are two possibilities: Robert just got a point for deleting a post Robert downvoted a person ...

@PekkasReputationBordello Not so! You can trade in 200k SO rep for a signed unicorn painting and 200k SO rep!

@PopularDemand Signed by whom?

Posted by Jeff Atwood on September 1st, 2010

Have you ever wondered what happens when you reach 200,000 reputation?

Just ask Jon Skeet.

Apparently, what happens is … you get a painting of unicorns, signed by us, dedicated to you.

Estimated value? Priceless!

Joel and I actually sat down with Mr. Skeet himself to record Stack Overflow podcast #72 during the London leg of DevDays — in the very Google offices pictured here.

Although we sometimes joke that Stack Overflow was accidentally constructed as the ultimate Jon Skeet honeypot, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Jon has a long history of answering people’s  …

@animuson hehe, you've added an answer, but I've already said that all in my question

@PopularDemand Hahahaha, that is great =)

I saw, I was typing before you edited.
@Martin: I added more.

10:01 PM
@animuson ah. Nice catch ! Really looks like overhead prevention
@animuson can we try something?

Does it involve pain?

No, I don't think so
I'll downvote your post and you'll delete your answer. Let's see what happens

Why did casperOne migrated this one? It's exact dupe of ... I can't find it now..

Q: Issue with auto update of reputation tab of users

amanaP lanaC A nalP A naM ALook at this user: http://meta.stackoverflow.com/users/132601/wfaulk?tab=reputation He had one post today which I up and down downvoted (i did it multiple times to be sure): Why do we need to show all of that? If I upvote and then downvote all in a row like that, what is the reason to show t...

@amanaPlanaCAnalPAnaMA Why wouldn't it do that? Those things happened.

@TimStone It did not used to show ALL of that. it redundant.

10:25 PM
Right, but the point of the update is to accurately reflect reputation events in real-time, so that seems to be working correctly? If that user was trying to figure out why their reputation kept going up and down by 2 points over the course of a few minutes, now they can see why.
You mentioned something about rolling it up at least because it was from the same user, but that would give away the fact that it was actually only one user.
I was going to make the comments they did too, but I thought that was self-evident. :P

Q: Combine serial upvote/downvote reversals into a single event in reputation history

animusonThis has happened to me twice recently. One was serial downvoting here on MSO by a... certain user glares... and the other was serial upvoting on SO. When they get reversed, it lists out a ton of "undownvote" or "unupvote" events in my history, like I don't already have enough entries from all th...

@amanaPlanaCAnalPAnaMA: Not really. Yours is on a single question.
Of flipping back and forth continuously
I don't really think yours should be shown at all.
If a vote is removed within the grace period, just get rid of it.

@animuson lol thats what mine was lol
all me up and down

@animuson The problem there would be if you had multiple reversed votes on the same post (like multiple sockpuppets, or what have you), since that would lend itself to two layers of expansion.
I guess there's no particular issue with indicating that it's a voting fraud detection though, since that seems rather self-evident.

10:42 PM
@TimStone: I would say combine them. Why would I need to expand 2 votes which got reversed on the same post?

shrugs
Consistency :P
