I notice that badges aren't updated immediately. Makes sense. Presumably SE sites have some kind of scheduled task for checking for and assigning new user badges. How often does this run? Waiting for my 100 consecutive days gold on SO :P

The schedule depends on the badge, but I believe that particular one gets awarded one hour after UTC 0:00, so in about 54 minutes. Be sure to do something that counts as activity, just in case.

With satellite, you get enough channels that you could just surf around the dial continuously. By the time you cycle around, all the programs have changed; now there must be something good on!

No, but we keep having people ask about what they should do if they get downvoted. I was thinking a FAQ on the fact that such a process exists

[faq] [downvote] "What to do if I get serially downvoted" A: "nothing. Write better questions or move on with your life. Downvote other questions that are crappy or edit them to make them better". But documenting what happens if someone serially downvotes a lot of your Q is not worthy of a FAQ, as that encourages circumvention.

I don't understand what you're at here man. If you want a tag synonym created, and you don't have the rep, then goto meta. If you do have the rep, then do it, but it would still help you to post it on meta.

Q: The single tag for Office Open XML

Currently on SO I found more the one tag for Office Open XML: ooxml (76), openxml (341), office-open-xml (0 so far) Also Wikipedia lists all of them: Office Open XML (also informally known as OOXML or OpenXML) .. Maybe merge all answers into the single one?

Apparently, cocos2d, does not use the @2x suffix convention used by UIKit. Instead, use the "-hd" suffix for Retina files.

Q: Who controls my player's movement?

In my game, does my player object control the movement, or does the map object control it? (Or some other object?) The player doesn't know about the map's contents to stop at solids, interact with objects etc. Am I doing it wrong?
