I can definitely send an email for you. But I think it would be most valuable to send once there is a more concrete plan. I fear that if we just send a "hey do something as a group and go to this meetup page" it will fall on deaf ears.

@AdamWright that's great. @VonC has his eyes on a venue in Canary Wharf, but I think it would be really interesting to have some alternative options as well.

@Alison thanks for the offer to send an E-Mail, we will definitely get back to you on that, although as you say maybe it's not quite the right time yet. On the other hand, seeing whether there is any (if hazy) interest in an alternative event at all might give us an idea whether it's workable at all, and what kind venue we would be looking for - be it a 5-person table at the pub, or something larger...

When we organize the meet-ups, Meetup suggested that 3 weeks is the optimal time to start marketing. So, something to keep in mind.

I'd be keen to reach the people who already have ordered their tickets (like me), before they give up hope...

But it's a fair point about not having a plan. At the very least, we need a better place for saying 'count me in'. As it currently stands, we're not even going to be enough people to prop up a bar...
